in the most cases I see these error messages, very seldom it's working ok (wlan0 created, ifconig wlan0 ..., etc), the strangest thing is the stable work of the same adapter at the same computer and with the same cable under w2k ;-( anyway, thanks for information, I'll try to replace cable....
