Which "other command"?? iwlist is not yet supported. Both iwconfig and ifconfig display stats. Which stats do you miss? > The beacon drop error happens only when I am trying to copy a huge set of > files across the network. > > I have my ssh login from windows machine to the linux the whole day, and I > dont see any problems with that. Open TCP connections are AFAIK not affected if the underlying MAC is cut for some seconds (i.e. the reconnect of your client). > As it was mentioned in the earlier threads, I am suspecting the beacon > problem occurs only under heavy load. yes, but the question remains if the load caused the ap or the client at the Linux machine to drop the beacons. > One more thing I forgot to mention in the previous posting, If I remember > correctly, When the belkin wireless adapter was plugged into the windows > machine, its LED was green in color, showing good link. where as the color > changed only if the router was very far. Link quality or simply link activity, e.g. rx of beacons? > I need to verify this again by plugging the wireless adapter to the windows > machine, but for some reason I am thinking my link quality is not proper. Difficult to find out without a trace tool. Does your access point display some statistics (tx packets with re-transmissions, rx packets with errors)? What's your maximal throughput with tcp (ftp a large file)? Maybe your devices are _too close_ tp the ap causing interferences? > Which version of the driver is the most stable ? 0.10 /Jörg BTW, please use _reply_ in answering posts to build threads correctly. And please cite properly.
