Hi,

I just invested in a 3com PCMCIA x-jack, and I am using the atmel
driver from http://atmelwlandriver.sourceforge.net/.

I managed to install everything just fine, and by using the 'lvnet'
application, I could connect to the my network fine. I then wanted to
automate things a bit, and noticed the /bin/fastvnet.sh script which
came with the atmel driver. After modifying
/root/.vnetrc to suit my needs, I simply ran the /bin/fastvnet.sh
script. This worked great.

However, after a reboot, and just running the script, it doesn't work.
The problem seems to be that "Security mode" is mentioned twice in the
iwconfig output:

eth0 ATMEL RFMD ESSID:"JokkeNET"
           Mode:Managed Channel:10 Access Point: 00:03:93:EE:76:B8
           Bit Rate:11Mb/s
           RTS thr=2347 B Fragment thr=2346 B
           Encryption key:xxxx-xxxx-xx Security mode:restricted
Security mode:open
           Link Quality:40 Signal level:0 Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
           Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

When opening lvnet, and setting the authentication type to "Shared
key", the encryption line in the above output gets changed to:

           Encryption key:xxxx-xxxx-xx Security mode:restricted

And all the sudden things work.

So, how can I avoid this multiple 'security mode' thing? I tried
setting the key manually, but still the last 'open' mode didnt go away.

Thanks in advance.
