Hi Jim, slight confusion as i was experiencing these problems when using 
the device as part of a wireless bridge (and i never resolved this 
issue).  AFAIK the driver works with both the 2.4.x and 2.6.X kernels on 
x86 but I'm not sure about x86_64.
