I found that the card autonegotiates correctly when connected in port 16 of 
the switch and only in that port. Also, i tried other cables and the result 
is the same. 

mii-diag ---watch output while i was disconnecting & connecting to port 16 & 
other ports (it only gets link in port 16):

I now remember that i had to do the same in the original longshine switch.
Although it is good i found a working port, i still would like to know if this 
can be avoided.
