Hi all,

with a little help of Matthew X. Economou (thanks again Matthew !), the
problem has been solved ..
I just didn't know that the interface had to be down before I could change
the mac address.
ifconfig hw ether 0:a0:8e:18:ca:a8 now works, so the system is fully
functional now.

Kind Regards,
Wouter Goderis

Subject: [eepro100] nokia ip330 driver

Hi,

As Matthew already pointed out in his mail to this list in July , there are
some problems with the network cards in the nokia ip330.
http://www.scyld.com/pipermail/eepro100/2003-July/000061.html

I tried with a 2.4.22 kernel, but ran into the same problems as Matthew...

Driver loads without problems , but I cannot specify the macaddress (default
macaddress of all nics is FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF)

When I try to specify the correct address with ifconfig , the driver returns
an error :
"SIOCSIFHWADDR: Device or resource busy"

Anybody who did get this working or who can help me out on this one ?

Kind Regards,

Wouter Goderis
