connecting Sony Ericsson T700

Hi.

I am trying to connect my Sony Ericsson T700 with Wammu but have no idea 
what many of the settings mean or what I'm required to enter at certain 
steps. I've looked at the Gammu phone database and see a couple of 
entries for this model, but this still doesn't tell me exactly what to 
enter in order to set it up. Note that I can access the phone over USB 
mass storgage in my file manager to do transfers no problem, but this 
doesn't give me easy access to my SMS messages or other items that I'd 
like to get off the phone and archive / access in an easier way.

Firstly, when I connect the phone via USB, I get a choice of 4 modes to 
choose from. Which should I select?

- Phone mode
- Media transfer
- Print
- Mass storage

I've already tried all but the Print option, but still stumble at other 
steps in the phone wizard. If I select 'Guided configuration', I don't 
know what system this phone uses. I select Sony Ericsson, then I don't 
know if I should select AT or OBEX. If I select 'Automatically search 
for a phone', when in USB mass storage mode I get this message:

Wammu is now searching for phone:

No phone has been found!

I don't know how to find out the device name of the USB port. I noted 
the following output in dmesg after connecting the phone in Phone Mode:

So, I tried connecting manually with the device name /dev/ttyACM0 or 
/dev/ttyACM1. I'm told I don't have permission and maybe I need to be in 
the dialout group. Adding myself to that group doesn't help. In USB mass 
storage mode, and after opening (mounting) the phone and phone card in 
my file manager, I note the following in dmesg, followed by a huge 
amount more gobbledegook including error messages that I won't post here:

Right at the end of all the blurb that follows I see

That at least suggests the device names. If I then try a manual 
connection to /dev/sdc1 or /dev/sdd1 with 'at' or 'at115200' (as noted 
in the database by another user) I'm told I don't have permission and 
maybe I should be in the disk group. Adding myself to that group doesn't 
make any difference either.

I've tried all sorts of variations on all these options but am getting 
nowhere.

All this on openSUSE 13.1 64-bit, KDE 4.11.5 and Wammu 0.36
Running on Python 2.7.6
Using wxPython 2.8.12.1
Using python-gammu 1.33.0 and Gammu 1.33.0
