PSC1315

Hello,

I just bought a HP PSC 1315 and cannot print under Suse 9.1 with
hpoj.0.91-115. ptal-setup recognises the printer and installs it.
ptal-print works with the ECHO service but I get a 

ptal-print: connecting to device "mlc:usb:psc_1310_series_"...  failed!

when I try ptal-print by hand. Installing the printer via CUPS fails (system
hangs). I downloaded the PSC 1310 ppd (and am not sure this will work) but
I dont think I even get to the point where I need it. 

Any clues ?
