Yes, I tried to do all of the install in the order specified.  Just now I 
deleted the printers and repeated from killall -HUP cupsd and still get the 
same result.

It doesn't ask for name or root password and the device dropdown list doesn't 
have this printer -- just  "hp_no_device_found."

Does PyQt have anything to do with this stage of operation or is it just for 
the gui printer setup?
