The command line is "lp -s -dpsc1210" in the gimp print menu.  Not sure what 
you mean about running gimp from the command line.  I typed 
"lp -s -dpsc1210 kfc2.jpg" in a console.  Came right back with the prompt and 
printer didn't move.
