Re: Storming and age

iwlist scan sometimes doesn't show any access points at all, sometimes the 
signal ranges from 20 to 60. No detectable bluetooth activity or wireless 
phones are in the vicinity. I've had a few times when I could have rather 
acceptable communication with signal level of 20-30 in a place with >20 
networks present, but not with these particular cases. It also happened 
quite a while ago so the version of the driver was much older (pre 1.0.0), 
don't know if that should matter.

What I find strange is that sometimes when I move around the campus and the 
card finds other networks, then after I come back to my regular workplace 
it keeps showing those networks in dmesg, only says they are excluded 
because of age, and that age can reach hours (like 7494288ms - more then 2 
hours!). Those networks are certainly not accessible from my location. Is 
this a _feature_ to keep these "dead" networks in logs?
iwlist shows nothing in this case. Yet I was able to associate and get dhcp 
from the network mentioned before. After using it for 2-3 minutes something 
breaks and it becomes completely unusable.


If it's a problem of weak signal, then I guess there isn't much to do, but 
the presence of a priori unavailable networks in logs seems counter-intuitive.
