Yes, the two previously mentioned scenarios happend when the card was
associated with different access points. However, only if the card was
associated with an enterasys access point the passive scanning worked. If the
card was associated with other access points it did not work. See
bugreport2_1.txt and bugreport2_2.txt.

I tried larger watchdog timerout values (till 20*HZ = 20 seconds), however, I
faced the same problem (only the enterasys access point worked).

The beacon interval is set to 100ms for all access points.

If I set the essid value to something invalid, I am not able to perform a real
passive scan because there are always active scans. The reason for this that
the card is looking for my access point with the invalid essid. So, I
replaced all active scans by passive scans inside the driver to see what
happens. The results looked like expected: passive scans were performed (and
of course completed).

So, my question is: does the execution of passive scans depend on any data the
access point is setting inside the host's firmware???

Did you try to install my patch and did you perform passive scans with
different access points? What is your result???

Frankly, I have no clue what causes this wired problem. Without your help I
will be lost.

Greetings,
Thomas
