Re: Passive Scanning Bugreport

Today, I played with my passive scanning patch at home because I wanted to 
solve the wired problem I faced so far (see my last posting about this 
topic). And believe it or not: my private laptop works well with my patch. I 
tried 2 access points (one D-Link and one from an unknown manufacturer) and 
with both access points everything worked fine. 
I have no explanation for this because both laptops run SuSE 10.1 (up-to-date 
patched), same versions of ipw2200 driver and firmware. My laptop at work is 
a nearly 2 year old IBM R51p while my private laptop is a nearly 1 year old 
Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook. Both machines use the so called Intel Centrino 
chipset. My last guess about this problem is that there is a hardware defect 
with my IBM machine?!?!??!
Did anyone of you guys try my passive scanning patch? If you are not 
experienced with hacking a program that uses the wireless tools to initiate a 
passive scan I can provide you such a small program. Please let my know.
