No led

Thanks for your interest in my question and sorry if I have not been crystal 
clear in my explanation.

In fact before I updated to the latest kernel release (to 2.6.15.27 from 
2.6.15.26) the led was on when there was an access point or a wireless cell 
in the area. As Zhu Li describes it very well, it was "solid on during 
association, long on and off while searching networks, short period blinking 
during data transmission". With no wireless devices in the neibourghood the 
led was actually off, which is a normal behaviour.

After the update I noticed that there was no led and after an iwlist there was 
actually a bunch of access points. I had at that time the original ipw2200 
module delivered with the ubuntu distribution which was release 1.1.0. if I 
can remember. I then decided to update to the latest stable release 1.2.0m

The led didn't wake up. I did make a modprobe ipw2200 led=1 without success.

So I don't know what to do else. This is not a serious problem actually but 
this is so fancy and great to see this green little led blinking to announce 
there's a wifi in the neighbourhood isn't it?

What I can do is uninstall it, compile it again and reinstall it. But I'm 
afraid it would do any changes. The logs looks normal:

Maybe there is a flag to enable (or disable) in the .config file of the 
kernel. I checked and compared to the INSTALL instructions and everything 
looked OK to me.

Yesterday I restarted the network interfaces without any success. eth1 remains 
without led.

Oh, I forgot... I checked with windows xp and the led is working but I don't 
use windows anyway. This was just to make a test. The led might have been 
broken. So it may be something that srews it up. I know it is not be easy to 
find. If you need any other details... Is there any debug code to test the 
led?
