ipw2200 and wpa_supplicant

Hi,

I imagine this question has been asked several times, but as i
couldn't find any answer about it in the thousands match from google,
so I ask to you:
I'm currently using a kernel 2.6.14, ipw2200 driver 1.2, ieee80211
driver 1.2.15, and wpa_supplicant 0.4.9 (all the latest except for the
kernel).

My problem is that i cannot join my AP either in WPA1 (TKIP) and WPA2
(CCMP). eventually the error returned from wpa_supplicant is:
--SNIP--
wpa_driver_ipw_set_auth_alg: auth_alg=0x1
ioctl[IPW_IOCTL_WPA_SUPPLICANT]: Operation not supported
--SNIP--
This is very weird as I compiled all the latest drivers and normally
WPA should be supported now.
Is there something I missed ? or is there a special firmware not
available on the ipw2200 driver project page that I should get in
order to make that work ?

Thanks in advance,
