"Fatal interrupt" during large transfers with ipw2100

I have a thinkpad x40 and use the ipw2100 driver. When I do a large
file transfer across my wireless network (between my x40 and a server on
the wired side of the bridge), I inevitably get "Fatal interrupt.
Scheduling firmware restart." within a minute or so. When this happens,
not only does my link quality go to zero and my network stall, but the
network drops for others as well. I have searched the bug database and
found similar issues, but I can't tell whether they're the same, so I'm
reporting it here. I would be exceedingly grateful for any help.

I am using Debian unstable, with kernel 2.6.22-1-686. My firmware is
version 1.3. The access point is a Belkin router that gives firmware
version 1.01.03. I also downloaded the current 1.2.2 driver source and
rebuild with debugging enabled, then loaded the module with
debug=0x43fff (this value copied from a bug report) and reproduced the
error. The entries in my kern.log are attached. The following three
lines give the error:

18:33:25 ipw2100: Fatal interrupt. Scheduling firmware restart.
18:33:25 ipw2100: I ipw2100_irq_tasklet eth1: Fatal error value: 0x5000CEC8
18:33:25 ipw2100: I ipw2100_irq_tasklet eth1: Fatal error address value: 0x100E3E04
