Hi Folks
I don't know if this is an IPW2200 problem or a network stack problem.
Im using 2.6.23 and 2.6.24-rc1.
Im seeing that my WLAN keeps pausing for a couple of minutes not
passing packets up the network stack. It happens when the device has
been idle for a couple of minutes and then there is a burst of
traffic. If there is continuous traffic, eg ssh into a remote machine
and typing emails etc, it is O.K. But if i turn away for a couple of
minutes to answer the phone etc, generally when i come back it goes
into pause mode after a couple of key presses. It is in STA mode and
it remains connected to the AP. iwconfig shows that it still received
beacons and the link quality is O.K. However when it is in "paused
modes", i see from ifconfig that the number of RX packets goes up, but
the number of RX bytes stayed the same. So it looks to me packets are
being received O.K. but are either being discarded or queued but not
passed up the stack. If i leave the machine alone for a couple of
minutes the networking comes back to life. Doing and ifconfig down ;
ifconfig up does not help. If i disconnect from the AP, it associates
O.K. but fails to get an IP address via DHCP. On the second or third
attempt it does get an IP address, so again i think the device is not
passing packets up the stack.
Does this sound familiar to anybody? Any ideas who i should debug this
further? Should i do a git bisect? 2.6.22 worked O.K, so it was some
change between 22 and 23 that broke it.
Thanks
Andrew
