Looking for developer documentation

Hi,

We are 6 French students working on a project intended to develop a
wifi driver for RTEMS on x86.
We haven't found any reliable developer documentation on Intel
chipsets. Since you have used Intel wifi firmware, we would be
grateful if you could give us some advice/web link/documentation about
these issues :
  - Can we use the firmware, and if we can't, what could we do
  - Where can we find the firmware
  - How to use it

Any additional advice or comments will be very appreciated,
