It looks to me like there are two problems. A - the hsfusb driver is 
registering with your usbcore and playing havoc with it. {why the hsfusb 
module always loads is a mystery if not a bug - happens on mine too}. B - 
three serial devices and a bunch of other ACPI devices are registering on the 
same irq {10} as the modem, which is overloading it. 

Have you tried booting with pci=routeirq ?
Does the new kernel work properly without the modem driver installed? 

You seem to have a number of errors in your dmesg that need to be resolved, if 
they are all {or even mainly} related to the modem modules then either 
symbols are out of whack {did you compile the modem module against the new 
kernel?} or the drivers are just not ready for FC5 {hit them up for that 
support we paid for}.
