Hi, driver version 7.68.00.09 will not work with HDA modems on Ubuntu 8.04 (problem with unknown symbols as you have mentioned). The solution is to install alsa-driver-linuxant available at http://www.linuxant.com/alsa-driver for this setup like you already did. Pre-compiled packages of both alsa-driver-linuxant and HSF Ubuntu 8.04 are currently being worked on. For the specific problem you have, please send to [email protected] the output of 'dumpdiag'. Type the following in a root shell: --- hsfconfig --dumpdiag --- Just send us the generated file located in /tmp ('hsfdiag.txt'). It'll help us solve the problem.
