SMC 2835 V.2 (?) - works with Prism54? ... or is it a carmouflage V.1?

Hi there,

my SMC2835W V.1 broke last week. It had some thermal defect, loosing the
link after some time in operation. Now I went through the hassle of SMC
RMA Procedures and got an up-front replacement (still took them 8 days
though).

Although I told the guys explicitly to send me a V.1 as replacement,
everything tells me, this new card is a SMC2835 V.2 ... and on this list
this card was reportedly *not* working. But mine works. It asks for a
new Windows driver ... but with prism54 its fine. I am using kernel
2.6.3 and prism54-1.1 stable.

#lspci -vn	 tells me:

02:00.0 Class 0280: 1260:3890 (rev 01)
        Subsystem: 10b8:a835
        Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 80, IRQ 5
        Memory at 1c800000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K]
        Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 1

But as far as I know, revision 1 of the Card had subsystem id 10b8:2835.
SMC part No. is 99-012084-295 (wheras I recall my V1: 99-012084-178 ? -
it was definitely not -295).

OK. Now here my question:
I need my prism54 card to work and to make my living. Therefore I want
to make sure, that this replacement works *reliably*. I could phone SMC
again, to get another replacement ... but that sucks. - And most likely
they will send me a V.2 again anyway. - Or could it be that this is just
a different Version of the V.1 and all will be fine.
