Development of usb drivers?

Hi there,
i consider buying some wlan devices with the prism54 chipset. (A pci
card by SMC works fine so far). I´d like to have one of those usb
thingies; the web site says the driver is currently being developed,
but that´s  "news" from june.

Who knows if / when the driver will be finished? I would rather buy some
other pci cards otherwise.
