We reconfigured our system to perform ftp loops between our Linux 2.2.19 machine and a WinNT4 machine. The two machines are connected directly to each other via a loopback cable. The rtl8139 driver is version 1.20. The Realtek machine regularly reports: eth0: Transmit timeout, status 0d 0000 media 10. After three hours of operation, it reported: eth0: Oversized Ethernet frame, status 1000c7aa! eth0: Abnormal interrupt, status 00000024. and after this, the ethernet interface stopped functioning. This *does* appear to be a bug in the Realtek driver, or possibly in the hardware itself. Does anyone here have any insights on this situation?? Dan Miller
