Hey All, Some strangeness for your diet here... I just bought 2 Linksys LNE100TX rev 5.1's in my RedHat 7.3 (kernel 2.4.18) brand new-scavenged-hand-me-down firewall. I plugged eth0 into my Linksys swtich for testing and all was well, so I unplugged eth0 from the switch, and plugged it directly into the cablemodem (Terayon) and then eth1 into the link on the switch. All of a sudden, I was getting carrier/packet errors. I would lose every 9th to 11th packet. Plugged eth0 back into the switch, all problems gone, back to the modem, same problem. Switched NIC's, same thing. I have downloaded netdrivers 3.4 and compiled to no avail. Grabbed an old linksys LNE100TX rev 4.1 from another box, plugged it into the modem and I get no errors. eth1 is still buggered though because I cant get my other boxes to DHCP off of it. (eth1 has carrier/packet errors galore also). The NIC's are not sharing any IRQ's or anything. Ever heard of something like this?
