Can't transmit with new kernel

Hello everybody, got a problem and would love to get some help :).

For over a month I have been trying to get my Linksys 10/100 NIC to work
with Debian 3.0. When I initially install Debian, with the 2.2.20 kernel,
the card works fine. If I try to update the kernel though, the card stops
working. I have tried numerous newer kernels (2.4.19 - 2.4.23, and 2.6.) I
have also tried compiling tulip support into the kernel as well as using the
driver as a module. Finally, I have also tried installing the tulip drivers
avialable on the website (v0.97.) In all cases the card stops working. In
particular, it seems that the card can recieve, but not send, packets. For
instances, here is a typical ifconfig output

Also, I tried using Tulip-Diag but was not able to compile the program even
though I followed the directions at the end of the file. When I try to
compile tulip-diag I get hundreds of errors, which can be found at

Are there any suggestions out there for a poor, inexperienced linux guy?
