I did not know RH 9 provides the 3c90x driver. The RH 9 has detected the driver. In Network Configuration->Devices and Hardware tab it shows the device. But I am still not able to access the internet. It still shows 'Inactive' status and nothing seems to happen when I click on 'Activate' button in the toolbar. I also tried restarting the Network service, but it still shows, Configured devices: lo eth0 Currently active devices: lo In System Logs it shows following after Network service restart: Dec 16 05:59:41 localhost network: Shutting down loopback interface: succeeded Dec 16 05:59:41 localhost sysctl: net.ipv4.ip_forward = 0 Dec 16 05:59:41 localhost sysctl: net.ipv4.conf.default.rp_filter = 1 Dec 16 05:59:41 localhost sysctl: kernel.sysrq = 0 Dec 16 05:59:41 localhost sysctl: kernel.core_uses_pid = 1 Dec 16 05:59:41 localhost network: Setting network parameters: succeeded Dec 16 05:59:41 localhost network: Bringing up loopback interface: succeeded Dec 16 05:59:41 localhost ifup: modprobe: Can't open dependencies file /lib/modules/2.4.20-8BOOT/modules.dep (No such file or directory) Dec 16 05:59:41 localhost network: Bringing up interface eth0: succeeded Is there a way to remove the hardware from what RH 9 has detected so that I can go through the 'New hardware detection' routine again ? What do I do next to make it work? > >-- >Bogdan Costescu _________________________________________________________________ Wonder if the latest virus has gotten to your computer? Find out.
