ACPI maybe, wake-up probably not. If the kernels that you are running 
support ACPI, you could try starting them with "acpi=on" or "acpi=off" on 
the kernel command line; additionally, if possible, you could try 
switching ACPI off in BIOS. If you can run Windows on this machine, it 
would be worth as well trying to get it working with Windows, then a warm
reboot into Linux; some components might be left in the right state by the 
Windows driver...

It seems that you do not have a 3c920 in that form, so such reports are 
not useful for the discussion. 920 is very close to 905C, such that 920 
cards were able to function with 3c59x after only adding the PCI IDs. But 
what you have doesn't work like this... and has different PCI IDs as well.
