Auto-negotiation on 3C90x Boomerang cards

Hi,

I'm confused about auto-negotiation on 3C90x Boomerang cards. The 3c59x
driver doesn't consider them to have it, and page 18 of the '3C90x and
3C90xB NICs Tecnical Reference' appears to back this up: "3C90xB NICs have
these additional features:... Support for IEEE 802.3u auto-negotiation..."

However, page 58 states: "On 3C90x NICs, the autonegotiation function is
implemented within the National Semiconductor DP83840 PHY chip."

Does the Boomerang have some kind of auto-negotiation that isn't 802.3u
compliant? If it does, could the 3c59x driver make use of this feature?

Regards,
Neil Cafferkey
