remote usage

Hello there,

How solid is the device drive to be used remotely?  I.e., from my
internal network, over 1mbit/s(DSL) to a device on my host.

How many 60GB dd files could a system handle constantly (the host
system) if I were to mount them remotely?  Suppose the system has
480GB space.  Would it be it be able to handle 8 mounts of these
loopback images, etc and the client should have no hiccups with that ?
 Given that there is no question on the bandwidth on both sides.
