Hi all, I created a RAID 5 set using EVMS 2.5.5 on Linux 2.6.12, and it seemed to be proceeding along just fine...going thru the initial synchronization. Now I checked in on the RAID set and found this message when launching EVMS -bash-3.00# /usr/evms/sbin/evms EVMS Command Line Interpreter Version 2.5.5 MDRaid5RegMgr: Region md/md0 is currently in degraded mode. To bring it back to normal state, add 0 new spare device to replace the faulty or missing device. MDRaid5RegMgr: Region md/md0 : MD superblocks found in object(s) [sdj1 ] are not valid. [sdj1 ] will not be activated and should be removed from the region. Engine: Error code 5 (Input/output error) when reading the primary copy of feature header on object dm-0. Engine: Error code 5 (Input/output error) when reading the secondary copy of feature header on object dm-0. I'm confused about this message and what the actual problem is...add 0 new spare device?? Any guidance would be appreciated! Thanks ________________________________________________________________________ AOL now offers free email to everyone.
