I have a disk which includes partitions sda12 and sda7 (among others) . I have an EVMS LVM2 container built on sda12 and sda7 is exported as a compatibility volume. I want to expand the container to include sda7, losing the current contents of sda7. sda7 is not mounted, though I mounted it to have a look at it. In evmsgui I deactivated sda7 deleted /dev/evms/sda7 expanded the container to include sda7. When I hit save it asks if its OK to overwrite the last 1024 bytes of sda7; I said yes. Then it gives me the error "Device or resource busy." Since I see the schedule actions include re-activating all the volumes exported by the container, I suspect the problem is that it wants to take the container off line and it can't. I'm running almost entirely on volumes exported from the container, so shutting it down isn't really an option. First, can anyone confirm this interpretation, or provide a correct one? Second, how can I do what I want to do? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
