There are no known issues (that I am aware of) of running EVMS on 64-bit
machines. It was tested to make sure it worked on 64-bit platforms. Did
you build EVMS in the 64-bit environment, or are you running 32-bit built
EVMS on a 64-bit platform?

I notice that cat /proc/mdstat does not list the raid5 personality. It is
most likely not built into your 64-bit kernel. Is it available as a
module? Try "modprobe raid5" to load the raid5 module, rerun EVMS, and see
if the array starts syncing.
