Problems with expanding raid5 array

Ok.  I have a EVMS volume /dev/evms/mediastore (XFS filesystem), that is built on top of an lvm2 container, "pool".  Pool is built from concatenated two raid5 arrays, pv0 is md1 (5x320GB) and pv1 is md0 (3x500GB).  I added 2 500 GB disks to the system, and tried to expand the container as discussed in the manual, but kept getting invalid argument errors.  I couldn't figure out why this was going on, but figured out my kernel supported online RAID5 resizing through the mdadm --grow option.

So I brought md0 back online, and added the 2 new disks as spares, and then started a grow operation.  It's taking awhile, but definitely working.

So I then started up evmsgui to resize the lvm container and the volume, but it started complaining that pv1 wasn't found "lvm2: The PV with index 1 was not found...".  And it created an error object to take it's place.  

It doesn't see md0 anymore, but the pool lv still shows the 2.1 TB size of the two concatenated md's prior to the disk addition.  

First off, how do I get evms to see the pv1 lvm volume again, and it's associated md0 with it's new size?  I assume I shouldn't have to wait for the grow to complete?

Everything is still there.  I can mount the /dev/evms/mediastore volume, not with that name but with /dev/mapper/pool-pool.  df still shows the original size.

Should I attempt to manually expand the containers with lvm, or is there something else I should try within evms?
