setfacl/ACL problem on XFS

Well, I may have overlooked something, but I am trying to get ACLs working 
again on several XFS filesystems. They worked long ago, before XFS was pulled 
into the main 2.4 tree, but I can't seem to get them working with the ACL 
patches.

I have applied the combined ea+acl+nfsacl+sec-0.8.73 patch to the default 
2.4.29 tree...the only other thing I've done is afterwards, I added the 
openwall patch. Everything applied and compiled cleanly. I set:

CONFIG_FS_POSIX_ACL=y

I have xfs filesystems on my test machine, but when I try to use setfacl, I 
get:

setfacl: test.txt: Operation not supported

Is there something else I am supposed to set in the kernel config? Or do you 
think my setfacl is perhaps broken? I am using setfacl from the Debian (sid) 
package. The setfacl version is 2.2.29. I think my coreutils (5.2.1-2) is OK, 
as Debian shows a dependency on libacl1.

Any pointers to information or even just possible directions to consider would 
be greatly appreciated. I hope I'm not just missing something simple.
