[001] - AntiRight Desktop Environment 2.9
by Jeffrey Bedard (http://freshmeat.net/users/jefbed/)
Sun, Jul 3rd 2005 17:43
Desktop Environment
Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: CD Audio :: CD Playing
Office/Business
About: AntiRight is a lightweight and scripted desktop environment. The
arshell utility is used to interface the X toolkit in use with the shell,
thus allowing X applications to be written with shell scripts. A sample
implementation script, ACE, serves as the definition of the AntiRight
Desktop Environment, and all necessary desktop environment utilities are
implemented therein.
Changes: This release enables the wmarmon system monitor and fixes a
memory leak in both wmarmon and wmar. Colorization and a proper event loop
have been added to wmarmon. The address of the FSF has been updated.

[002] - AudienceConnect::E-Zine 0.1.6
by Richard Harris (http://freshmeat.net/users/goosequill/)
Sun, Jul 3rd 2005 11:28
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content :: CGI Tools/Libraries
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Site Management
About: AudienceConnect::E-Zine is a revenue-generating Python CGI solution
for independent content providers. Requests for dynamic content are routed
through PayPal. Previews of that content are generated as static HTML for
search engines to harvest. Self-publishers can upload and publish
remotely, or the editorial CGI can be used to view and publish
submissions. AudienceConnect can be extended to deliver any digital
content such as sound and image files. Installation is very simple, as no
database technologies are used.
Changes: This release adds password-guarded editorial queues for
sub-sites, a "not chosen" CGI for submissions not chosen, and a pending
queue and CGI for requested submissions -- all triggered by simple links.
The README has been updated.

[008] - ccbuild 0.8.0
by A. Bram Neijt (http://freshmeat.net/users/bmm/)
Sun, Jul 3rd 2005 08:41
Software Development :: Build Tools
About: ccbuild is like a dynamic Makefile. ccbuild finds all programs in
the current directory (containing "int main") and compiles them. For this,
it reads the C++ sources and looks at all local and global includes. All
C++ files surrounding local includes are considered objects for the main
program. The global includes lead to extra compiler arguments using a
configuration file. ccbuild splits these arguments for compilation and
linking, keeping the linking arguments back for later use. It should allow
development without any scripting and only simple reusable configuration.
Real deployment/distribution should still be done with other tools. As an
added bonus, it can create simple Makefiles and graph dependencies using
DOT (graphviz) graphs.
Changes: A global resolution error message was fixed. Resolving all shows
globals only once. The recursive-include option has been added. Clean
removes the binary target object file. Brute mode is cancelled when g++
returns 2. The Makefile has support for all header precompilation.

built-in Perl interpreter. At any moment, the user can execute Perl
statements and functions to do things much more powerful than simply
sending text the the MUD. Perl statements can also be run, for example, as
the action of a trigger, allowing you to do complex things. Some built-in
functions of KildClient allow interaction with the world, such as sending
commands to it. KildClient supports MCCP (Mud Client Compression Protocol)
versions 1 and 2, and a direct chat system to other users of KildClient or
other clients compatible with the MudMaster or zChat protocols.
Changes: KildClient does not segfault any more when opening a new world
for the first time. & and < can now be used in the command separator, and
this does not cause the world to stop being recognized.

port GNU/Linux to it. The aim is to run 64-bit Linux on common 8/16/32 bit
CPUs in applications where speed is not an issue.
Changes: This release features a document describing 64 bit VCPU
specifications, some Web related docs, gambas files for the software
emulator, and some C code aimed at a PIC to convert it into 64 bit
virtual CPU.

[066] - the poldek 0.18.9
by Pawel A. Gajda (http://freshmeat.net/users/mis/)
Sun, Jul 3rd 2005 07:52
System :: Archiving :: Packaging
System :: Installation/Setup
System :: Software Distribution Tools
About: The poldek is an RPM package management tool which allows you to
easily perform package verification, installation (including system
installation from scratch), upgrading, and removal. Package dependencies
are automatically handled, so if you try to install a package that needs
others to be installed, it will download all needed packages and install
them. It can be used in batch (like apt-get from Debian's APT) or
interactive mode. The interactive mode puts you into a readline interface
with commandline autocompletion and history, similar to the shell mode of
Perl's CPAN.
Changes: This release fixes compilation with gcc4 and bugs related to
changed glibc 2.3.5 stdio cookie behavior. Minor dependency resolving
improvements have been made. A new --pmcmd option to set rpm binary
alternatives has been added.

[069] - XCC 0.3.4
by Evgeny Stambulchik (http://freshmeat.net/users/fnevgeny/)

Software Development :: Code Generators
Text Processing :: Markup :: XML
About: XCC is a tool for building XML format parsers. One way to describe
what XCC does is by analogy with a generic parser generator, e.g. yacc or
bison. Yacc needs a lexical analyzer to function properly, and that
lexical analyzer is usually built with (f)lex. In the XML world, there are
a few packages which fill in the role of lex (expat and libxml are the most
known), but the high-level grammar parsing is usually done by a
hand-written code; writing such a parser is a tedious and error-prone
task. XCC was created to help developers in writing reliable
easy-to-understood parsers for handling complex XML-based grammars.
Changes: This release adds an exception notice to the public XCC material,
permitting its use beyond the GPL terms.

[070] - Xerces2 2.7.0
by Andy Clark (http://freshmeat.net/users/andyc2/)
Sun, Jul 3rd 2005 17:46
Text Processing :: Markup :: XML
About: Xerces2 is the next generation Apache Xerces-J XML parser. This
version of Xerces-J defines the Xerces Native Interface (XNI), and
provides a complete, standards compliant reference implementation using
XNI. The parser was completely re-designed and re-implemented to be
simpler and more modular. To help contribute to this project, visit the
Apache XML Project web page and join the xerces-j-dev mailing list.
Changes: This release implements JAXP 1.3 packages, XInclude
recommendation, and SAX 2.0.2 as well as SAX2 extensions 1.1. It has
experimental support for XML Schema 1.1, a feature to report character
offsets, and other features and bugfixes.

[071] - xlit 1.2
by Bill Poser (http://freshmeat.net/users/billposer/)
Sun, Jul 3rd 2005 17:45
Text Processing :: Linguistic
About: xlit is a program for converting text from one writing system into
another. It allows the user to define a transliteration simply by typing
the input strings in one window and the strings to which they are to be
mapped in another. This makes it suitable for use for dealing with
non-standard transliteration, such as those often necessary between the
language notes made by a missionary, trader, or other amateur and
technical linguistic notation, or between linguistic notation and a
practical writing system. It also provides some advanced facilities not
found in typical transliteration and encoding conversion programs.
Changes: The character insertion code has been replaced with a new,
cleaner version. The new version also fixes a bug which caused the delete
button on the widget for inserting characters by Unicode codepoint to
affect the wrong window under certain circumstances. Two typos in
character glosses have been corrected.
