[001] - abcm2ps 4.12.2 (Development)
  by Guido Gonzato (http://freshmeat.net/users/goccia/)
  Mon, Nov 28th 2005 06:29

Printing

About: abcm2ps is a package that converts music tunes from ABC format to
PostScript. Based on abc2ps version 1.2.5, it was developed mainly to
print baroque organ scores that have independant voices played on one or
more keyboards, and a pedal-board. It introduces many extensions to the
ABC language that make it suitable for classical music.

Communications :: File Sharing
Information Management
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content

About: Ampache is a Web-based MP3/Ogg/RM/Flac/WMA/M4A manager. It allows
you to view, edit, and play your audio files via HTTP/IceCast/Mpd or
Moosic. It has support for downsampling, playlists, artist, and album
views, album art, random play, song play tracking, user themes, and remote
catalogs using XML-RPC.

Changes: This release includes the newest version of the Snoopy library,
which is used for gathering Amazon album art. A vulnerability was found in
the previous version of Snoopy that allowed remote code execution once a
user had succesfully authenticated.

Changes: Automated reconnection to the database server was fixed. Saving
to standard output is allowed with preludedb-admin. The "preludedb-admin

Software Development :: Code Generators
Software Development :: Compilers
Software Development :: Libraries :: Tcl Extensions

About: MIB Smithy SDK is a dynamic extension to Tcl/Tk (8.1+) that allows
development of custom scripts for controlling SNMP agents, manipulating
SMI definitions, doing conversions, and more. It is based on the core of
Muonics' MIB Smithy, and the SDK supports SMIv1 and SMIv2, as well as
SNMPv1/v2c/v3 with HMAC-SHA-96 and HMAC-MD5-96 authentication and CBC-DES
privacy. It also provides complete read-write access to all elements of
SMI/MIB Module definitions, unlike similar extensions that provide only
read access to a limited subset. The SDK allows multiple discrete SMI
databases and SNMP sessions, and provides all of the built-in validation
and error recovery capabilites of the full product, without the visual MIB
development environment.

Changes: New features were added for formatting SNMP data for display,
performing SNMP Get-Next walks of agent subtrees, using enumerated INTEGER
labels in request variable bindings, and simplifying session cloning. Many
performance improvements were made. A crash was fixed in the APIs for
calculating USM KeyChange values.

Software Development :: Interpreters

About: PHP is a widely-used Open Source general-purpose scripting language
that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded into
HTML. Its syntax draws upon C, Java, and Perl, and is easy to learn. PHP
runs on many different platforms and can be used as a standalone
executable or as a module under a variety of Web servers. It has excellent
support for databases, XML, LDAP, IMAP, Java, various Internet protocols,
and general data manipulation, and is extensible via its powerful API. It
is actively developed and supported by a talented and energetic
international team. Numerous Open Source and commercial PHP-based
application packages are available.

Changes: This is a regression correction release aimed at addressing
several issues introduced by PHP 5.1.0. The native date class is withdrawn
to prevent namespace conflict with PEAR's date package. A fatal parse error
when the last line of the script is a PHP comment has been fixed. eval() no
longer hangs when the code being evaluated ends with a comment. An
inconsistency in the format of PHP_AUTH_DIGEST between Apache 1 and 2
SAPIs has been fixed. safe_mode/open_basedir checks inside the cURL

  by Rasmus Toftdahl Olesen (http://freshmeat.net/users/halfdan/)
  Mon, Nov 28th 2005 11:06

System :: Systems Administration

About: Vertigo is a system for managing one or more servers. It allows
administrators to manage virtual hosts on their servers without having to
manually edit configuration files. Moreover, it allows users of these
virtual hosts to manage their email addresses and aliases, as well as
giving them a way to access their backups. All of this is done using a

changing the configuration of domains (virtual hosts), a series of Web
applications, and a range of services that does the actual manipulation of
configuration files.
