About: alph implements and analyzes historical and traditional ciphers and
codes, such as polyalphabetic, substitutional, and mixed employing
human-reconstructable algorithms. It provides a pipe filter interface in
order to encrypt and decrypt block text to achieve transparency. The
program is meant to be used in conjunction with external programs that
transfer data, resulting in transparent encryption or decryption of
information. The program can thus be used as a mail filter, IRC filter, IM
filter, and so on.
Changes: Two new ciphers were added: BEALE and ZIGZAG. The permutation and
combination tools were modified regarding the output file handling. Some
hash function returns were fixed and some unused variables were removed.
The special character in the help output was supressed and the cipher
count was corrected. The manpage was updated to reflect the changes.

About: anyfs-tools allows you to recover and convert filesystems while
using minimal extra disk space. Unlike other recovery tools, anyfs-tools
doesn't copy all the files found on other disks (or partitions), but only

anyfs and the external inode table and then interact with all recovered
files with any program.

About: Blossoc is a linkage disequilibrium association mapping tool that
attempts to build (perfect) genealogies for each site in the input, score
these according to non-random clustering of affected individuals, and

About: delsafe is a set of utilities to hopefully allow you to recover
recently deleted files. Basically, when you delete or in certain cases
overwrite a file the original file is moved into a trash can. It does this
by overriding the original unlink, rename, open, and fopen library calls
using the Linux LD_PRELOAD mechanism. Trash cans are placed on top of each
mount point and are accessible by each user directly or through links
placed in the user's home directory. This makes deletion very fast
because, in fact, it is only a renaming. To each filename in the trash can
is appended a time/version stamp.
Changes: Significant changes were made mainly to reduce the CPU overhead.

from the Postfix 2.3 development branch. Most of this patch hardens the TLS
implementation against DNS-based attacks, and eliminates some anomalies

malformed MX record (for example, with a null MX hostname). It bounces
such mail immediately.

About: Seed7 is a general purpose programming language. It is a higher
level language compared to Ada, C++, and Java. In Seed7, new statements
and operators can be declared easily. Functions with type results and type
parameters are more elegant than a template or generics concept. Object
orientation is used when it brings advantages and not in places when other
solutions are more obvious. Although Seed7 contains several concepts of
other programming languages, it is generally not considered as a direct
descendant of any other programming language.

About: splittar allows you to create one or more tar files from a set of
data where each of the generated tar files is less than a specified
maximum size. Each tar file is a proper, self-contained tar file. Other
methods of backing up data to removable media requires a tar file to be
split, making one of the tar file useless without the others. splittar was
written to back up large amounts of data that span multiple DVDs while
allowing for each DVD to be useful on its own.
Changes: A few minor bugs related to permissions and parsing of
commandline options were fixed. Several new command line options were
added (--version, logging options, ratio weight options). The manpage
documentation was greatly improved. The algorithm that determines which
source file should go in which archive was also improved and optimized.
The archive files should have more consistent sizes now.

About: uni2ascii and ascii2uni convert between UTF-8 Unicode and 20 7-bit
ASCII equivalents including: hexadecimal and decimal HTML and SGML numeric
character references, \u-escapes, standard hexadecimal, raw hexadecimal,
and RFC2396 URI format. Such ASCII equivalents are useful for entering
Unicode in program source or in programs that are not 8-bit safe, and for
testing and debugging. Several options allow Unicode to be converted to

About: The Interreality project is a collection of Open Source, Free
Software projects based on the Virtual Object System (VOS) platform. The
goal is to develop a free and open platform for multi-user 3D virtual
reality games, applications, and interactive, collaborative 3D virtual
spaces. VOS is a powerful and generic network object framework designed to
support a variety of high-performance applications. It is the basis for
Ter'Angreal, a general-purpose browser application for entering and
participating in 3D worlds.
Changes: A new XML object description (XOD) file format was added. The ASE
3D loader was improved to correctly skip over unrecognized sections. The
VOS-Browser is more stable now. The dependency on flex and bison to
compile was eliminated. Several libraries were merged in to reduce outside
dependencies. A compiling problem on OS X was fixed. VOS now uses gcc 4.x
symbol visibility if available. Support for MSVC 8 was added. The
documentation was reorganized and the build instructions were updated.
This is a prerelease for testing but should much easier to build than
previous versions.
