the Windows Imaging program, but with the express objective of writing a
PDF, including metadata. Scanning is handled with SANE via scanimage. PDF
conversion is done by libtiff. Perl is used for portability and ease of
programming, with gtk2-perl for the GUI.

Changes: The deprecated Gtk2::SimpleList has been changed to
Gtk2::Ex::Simple::List. A bug where thumbnails were lost after undo/redo
has been fixed. Deleting pages now selects the nearest page. This release
adds unpaper --border-align and --border-margin support, compression
options for saving TIFFs, and updated scan and PDF icons. unpaper is
ghosted if imagemagick is not present.

About: HPGL-Distiller filters out aspects of an HPGL file which are not
relevant for various HPGL output devices, typically vinyl cutters.
Irrelevant codes are filtered out to prevent many vinyl cutters from
responding poorly to the excess data. With the use of HPGL-Distiller, you

Database :: Front-Ends
Internet :: WWW/HTTP
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content

About: Interchange is a mature Web application development environment
with a focus on ecommerce and dynamic content management. It offers
session and user management, database connectivity (both via SQL and a
database abstraction layer), templating, a shopping cart, payment
processing, inventory, encryption (via GnuPG, PGP, etc.), tax and shipping
calculation, discounts, Web-based administration, localization, event
routing, SOAP-based RPC, a custom tag language akin to CFML, and the full
power of Perl. It grew out of two earlier projects, MiniVend and Tallyman.

Changes: A DoS exploit caused by carefully crafted HTTP POST requests has
been fixed. An apparent Perl bug that allowed code called by
DispatchRoutines to overwrite the routines arrays themselves has been
worked around. Masking of unencrypted credit card numbers to work with a
custom MV_CREDIT_CARD_INFO_TEMPLATE that does not match the regexp has
been fixed. The regexp has been fixed so that it removes the CVV2 value
from the unencrypted data. A shipping problem with the temporary
mv_shipping cart that could cause trouble in cart recalculations has been
fixed. There are other various bugfixes and minor enhancements.

Office/Business :: Scheduling

About: pAgenda is a cross-platform calendar and schedule. It uses the
SQLite database to handle multiple schedules with ease in single, small,

functional, but its strongest feature is how well it prints out a daily
schedule with a single click.

Changes: DB calendar files can now be created and saved to a folder other

[055] - s11n 1.2.5
  by stephan beal (http://freshmeat.net/users/s11n/)
  Thu, Feb 8th 2007 05:11

About: s11n ("serialization") is a C++ library for easily serializing a
wide variety of objects, including PODs, STL containers, and user-defined
Serializable types. It is completely data-format agnostic and currently
supports 7 data formats, including three XML dialects and one
MySQL-powered back-end. Its author, with atypical hubris, truly believes
s11n to be the most advanced, most flexible, simplest-to-use, and utterly
most powerful serialization framework ever implemented in C++.

Changes: This release primarily contains minor cleanups, half of which are
build-tree related. If 1.2.3 or 1.2.4 works for you, there is no reason to
upgrade, however it may be of use if you make heavy use of client-side
Serializable template types.

[056] - Shed Skin 0.0.19
  by srepmub (http://freshmeat.net/users/srepmub/)
  Thu, Feb 8th 2007 16:30

Software Development :: Compilers

About: Shed Skin is an experimental Python-to-C++ compiler. It accepts
pure but implicitly statically typed Python programs and generates
optimized C++ code. This means that in combination with a C++ compiler, it
allows for translation of pure Python programs into highly efficient
machine language. For a set of 16 non-trivial test programs, measurements
show a typical speedup of 2-40 over Psyco, about 12 on average, and 2-220
over CPython, about 45 on average. Shed Skin also outputs annotated source
code.

Changes: Iterator and generator support (no generator expressions yet).
Full support for random modules. This release adds itertools.{count,
repeat, cycle}, dict.{iterkeys, itervalues, iteritems}, and a 3-argument
integer version of __builtin__.pow. Logical and/or operations have the
correct return value now (e.g. '3 and 4'). Many minor bugfixes (an
improved % operator, the addition of math.pow, and more).
