[001] - 3rd Edition Dungeons & Dragons Character Generator 3.5
by Slicer (http://freshmeat.net/users/slicer/)
Sat, Jul 21st 2007 12:11
Games/Entertainment :: Role-Playing
About: 3rd Edition Dungeons and Dragons Character Generator is an
HTML/JavaScript Web page that allows the user to quickly and easily create
new Dungeons and Dragons characters. The characters can be of any of the
eleven classes, any of the playable races, and may start at any level from
1 to 220. Generation requires some simple input, after which the character
is displayed on a basic character sheet. It allows you to select your
starting stats, add ability points, and pick skills, equipment, feats, and
spells. It runs on most operating systems with most modern browsers.
Changes: This release fixes a few minor, but pesky bugs. Halflings no
longer get extra saving throws where they should not. Saves and skills are
shown in a more common format. Classes can now get all of their bonus
langages (which fixes an error with druids).

[005] - deco archive file extractor 0.1
by P. Hartlich (http://freshmeat.net/users/phartlich/)
Sat, Jul 21st 2007 01:26
System :: Archiving
About: deco is a generic archive file extractor that has a consistent
command line interface ('deco 1.tar.bz2 2.zip 3.flac 4.rar 5.deb' will
just work) and consistent behavior (it never deletes archives after
extraction, extracts relative to the current working directory, and
extracts just verbosely enough, all unless explicitly requested
otherwise). It provides automatic handling of extractor gotchas by
creating an extraction directory if there is more than one file or
directory at the archive top level and can fix strange permissions. 26
archive file extensions are supported out of the box, and adding support
for others requires very little work.

[010] - gpgdir 1.4
by Michael Rash (http://freshmeat.net/users/michaelrash/)
Sat, Jul 21st 2007 01:08
Security :: Cryptography
About: gpgdir is a Perl script that uses the CPAN GnuPG module to encrypt
and decrypt directories using a GPG key specified in ~/.gpgdirrc. It
supports recursively descending through a directory in order to make sure
it encrypts or decrypts every file in a directory and all of its
subdirectories. All file mtime and atime values are preserved across
encryption and decryption operations. In addition, gpgdir is careful not
to encrypt hidden files and directories.
Changes: The --overwrite-encrypted command line argument was implemented
to allow previously encrypted files to be overwritten. This is useful for
updating an encrypted directory with new versions of the previously
encrypted files. A new --overwrite-decrypted command line argument
performs the same function for previously decrypted files. A bug where a
filename of "0.gpg" could not be decrypted because "0" does not evaluate
to a true value was fixed.

[015] - nut 12.6
by Jim Jozwiak (http://freshmeat.net/users/jozwiak/)
Sat, Jul 21st 2007 01:06
Scientific/Engineering :: Medical Science Apps.
About: nut is nutrition software to record what you eat and analyze your
meals for nutrient composition. The database included is the USDA Nutrient
Database for Standard Reference, Release 19, which contains 7,293 foods and
140 nutrients. This database contains values for vitamins, minerals, fats,
calories, protein, carbohydrates, fiber, etc., and includes the essential
polyunsaturated fats, Omega-3 and Omega-6. Nutrient levels are expressed
as a percentage of the Daily Value, the familiar standard of food labeling
in the United States, but also can be fully customized. Foods can be added
from recipes or food labels, and nutrient intake can be graphed. The
program is completely menu-driven and there are no commands to learn.
Changes: This release enhances the function that reverse-engineers the
formulation of a packaged food in order to provide the nutrient values
that are not on the nutrition statement. The algorithm can now evaluate
ordered ingredient statements with multiply-nested or grouped ingredients,
and provides a progress indicator for the calculation.

library. The possibility to choose a method of image conversion in the GD
library was added: resampling gives better image quality, but is much
slower than resizing. The possibility to disable "client" mode was added.

[029] - Wcalc 2.3
by memoryhole (http://freshmeat.net/users/memoryhole/)
Sat, Jul 21st 2007 12:07
About: Wcalc is a very capable calculator. It has standard functions (sin,
asin, and sinh for example), many pre-defined constants (pi, e, c, etc.),
support for using variables, a command history, hex/octal/binary input and
output, unit conversions, bit-shifting, embedded comments, and an
expandable expression entry field. It evaluates expressions using the
standard order of operations.
Changes: This has plenty of bugfixes and a couple nifty new features. In
the GUI realm, Wcalc now also serves as a System Service, and so adds a
"Wcalc Compute" entry to the Services menu of other applications. In the
CLI realm, Wcalc's error reporting is now more friendly, and will tell you
exactly where in the line the error occurred. Also, Wcalc now uses
tab-completion in the CLI, and can tab-complete just about anything
(variables, conversion units, commands, functions, etc.).

About: Web Business Pro is a Web application designed for everyday
business activities. It includes support for customer lists, inventory,
receipt printing, and accounting. Fully featured search functions and
filters make it easy to find what you need quickly.
Changes: A lot of code was rewritten. Search features are now easier. Some
things left open in the administration page were fixed. Better support was
provided for mail, time clock, work priority, and parts. This version is a
lot more stable than the previous release. Those upgrading must reload the
database with the initial given in the distribution.

[031] - wiki2xhtml 3.0.3
by Granjow (http://freshmeat.net/users/Granjow/)

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content :: Wiki
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Site Management
About: wiki2xhtml can create complete Web pages and uses a clean XHTML
syntax. It can insert galleries, a menu, a footer, and nearly all elements
you know from the Wikipedia. The pages are formatted with CSS. All designs
can be adjusted by hand, and custom ones can be used as well. wiki2xhtml
generates the HTML pages from simple text files in the MediaWiki syntax.
You can also use own (X)HTML code or other script languages inside; there
are no restrictions. The GUI is composed of a Code Paste Window where you
can insert wiki code that will be generated live. A click into the result,
the XHTML code, copies it into the clipboard.
Changes: Between the tags "pre" and "code" and within comments, wiki2xhtml
doesn't insert paragraphs anymore.
