[009] - Big Faceless Graph Library 2.3.2
  by BFO (Big Faceless Organization)
  Mon, Aug 6th 2007 10:19

Multimedia :: Graphics :: Presentation
Software Development :: Libraries

About: The Big Faceless Graph Library is a Java class library for creating
graphs and charts. It is backed by a full 3D engine, allowing you to create
shaded 3D pie, bar, and line graphs as GIF, PDF, PNG, or other image
formats. Its features include transparent backgrounds, extensible axes to
graph dates, currencies, custom fonts, and spline curve fitting. It is
small, fast, and easy to use.

Changes: Display order of markers on a non-3D graph is now deterministic.
Markers, images, and labels on bar series appear in the correct place if
the order of the bars is changed between series or if the series is part
of a stack barseries. A label tag can be made into a hyperlink, and now
accepts attributes such as href and onmouseover. It's possible to cause
the GraphServlet to reject requests based on HTTP headers, via the
"headercheck.N" init-parameters.

[010] - Bitgate Server Software Environment 0.4.3
  by Ken Hollis (http://freshmeat.net/users/Tsuichi1/)
  Mon, Aug 6th 2007 03:36

Internet

About: Bitgate Server Software Environment aims to build a multi-protocol
environment in which server protocol handlers can be eventually loaded and
unloaded on the fly using a center console or controller Web page. It aims
to have 99.9% uptime, and have high-availability (Java 6) compliance. It
is written in Java 5, and relies completely on Java's I/O functionality to
provide non-blocking support for both SSL and non-SSL sockets
(transparently). All configuration is done via XML files, as this is
easier to maintain. It includes a minimal demonstration HTTP server.

Changes: This is the last release in the 0.4.x series of code. The HTTP
directory code was updated to show truncated filenames, file sizes, and
types in two columns. hashCode to ByteString was implemented so that
HashMaps can be used with ByteStrings as keys. Keep-Alive was implemented
in the HTTP server. A couple of responses to the client from the server
were corrected. 302 redirects were added on directory entries that do not
end in "/".

[016] - Cheese Tracker 0.9.15
  by J Phelps (http://freshmeat.net/users/jphelps/)
  Mon, Aug 6th 2007 17:45

Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: Sound Synthesis

About: Cheese Tracker is a program to create module music. It aims to have
an interface and feature set similar to that of Impulse Tracker. It works
on Unix systems and on Windows (using cygwin), but all the interface/audio
code is fully modular and abstracted in individual classes, which should

sunset, and stays static from sunset to sunrise, as if the shadow is being
cast by the "sun" moving right (east) to left (west) over your windows. It
requires compiz to be the window manager and the compiz decorator plugin
to be active or beryl with the emerald window decorator.

Changes: The Stock Close button is now used on the Preferences window, and
a dot is placed on the map for chosen location. SunflowerApplet.server is
created as part of the configure process, and a graphical location picker
has been added.

  Mon, Aug 6th 2007 03:36

Internet :: File Transfer Protocol (FTP)

About: tnftp (formerly known as lukemftp) is a port of the NetBSD FTP
client to other systems. It offers many enhancements over the traditional
BSD FTP client, including command-line editing, command-line fetches of
FTP and HTTP URLs (including via proxies), command-line uploads of FTP
URLs, context-sensitive word completion, dynamic progress bar, IPv6
support, modification time preservation, paging of local and remote files,
passive mode support (with fallback to active mode), SOCKS support, TIS
FWTK gate-ftp server support, and transfer rate throttling. tnftp is the
default FTP client found in FreeBSD, MacOS X, NetBSD, and SuSE Linux.

Changes: The "-s srcaddr" option was implemented to set the local IP
address for all connections. The "-q quittime" option is supported when
waiting for server replies. The IEC 60027-2 units such as "KiB" and "MiB"
are used instead of "KB", "MB", etc. Portability fixes were made,
including for FreeBSD, Mac OS X, and Solaris.

[060] - Turbulence 0.2.1
by Advanced Software Production Line (http://freshmeat.net/users/aspl/)
  Mon, Aug 6th 2007 09:18

Communications
Internet
Software Development

About: Turbulence is a general BEEP server that provides many site
administration features. Turbulence is built on top of the Vortex library
and is extensible through modules and allows you to implement server side
profiles that are used and combined later with other profiles through run
time configuration. Turbulence is written to make it easy to develop and
deploy BEEP profiles, allowing developers to provide a convenient
configuration interface to site administrators and end users.

Changes: This is the first official release. It allows the configuration
of basic features such as ports, bind address, log files, max connections,
and bad signal handling. It also includes two initial modules: mod-sasl and
mod-tunnel. This release also includes one of the most important features
for Turbulence, the profile path: an administrative mechanism that allows
the user to choose which profiles can be used by remote peers and how they
are sequenced, according to peer status, source address, previously created
channels, and much more.

[061] - Usermin 1.290
  by Jamie Cameron (http://freshmeat.net/users/jcameron/)
  Mon, Aug 6th 2007 17:52

System :: Systems Administration

About: Usermin is a Web interface that can be used by any user on a UNIX
system to easily perform tasks like reading mail, setting up SSH, or
configuring mail forwarding. It can be thought of as a simplified version
of Webmin designed for use by normal users rather than system
administrators.

Changes: The indexing system for mailboxes has been completely rewritten
to make it faster and more reliable. Messages are now identified by a
unique ID, such as the maildir filename or IMAP UID. All pages in the Read
Mail module have been updated to a more consistent and themable look.
Messages marked as Special are now automatically added to a virtual folder
of the same name, making them easier to find. A Preferences option has been
added to whitelist recipients of email that you send, and the Filter Mail
module has new pages that quickly set up an autoresponder or forwarding.
