About: Blitz templates is a fast PHP template engine written in C and
compiled as a PHP extension. It started as a php_templates replacement,
but developed into much more. It is based on extensible template
controllers (custom view classes in PHP) and weakly-active templates
(simple logic in HTML). Benchmarks show that it is one of the fastest
template engines for PHP, even though it's not trivial and makes Web
application closer to a smart MVC-like architecture model with maximal
separation of HTML from your code. It was designed for big high-load
Internet projects with a lot of complex presentation logic.

Changes: Thread safety and Win32 compilation fixes were made. The
initialization variable 'blitz.path' support was added
(ini_set('blitz.path', '/your/path/')). This variable is empty by default.
All filenames will be prefixed by this value if the filename doesn't start
with '/'.

About: Graphical certification authority is an interface for managing RSA
and DSA keys, certificates, certificate signing requests, revocation lists
and templates. It uses the OpenSSL and Qt4 libraries. Certificates and
requests can be created and signed and many x509v3 extensions can be
added. XCA supports multiple root and intermediate Certificate
authorities. The CAs can be used to create CRLs and extend certificates.
The following file-formats are supported: PEM, DER, PKCS#7, PKCS#8,
PKCS#10, PKCS#12, SPKAC. 

Changes: This version fixes an issue where some CA signed certificates
were not sorted correctly below that CA. Malformed certificates no longer
cause a crash. The string encoding rules for the distinguished name can
now be set in the options dialog and PKCS#10 attributes can be set and

About: Roadsend Compiler for PHP produces optimized stand alone
applications, libraries, and Web applications from standard PHP source
code. The compiler produces native machine code, not PHP byte code, so no
interpreter is required. It is a new implementation of the PHP language
and runtime environment compatible with Zend PHP. It does not share any
code with the original PHP implementation.

Changes: The build system was greatly improved by moving to autoconf. More
PHP5 functionality was added. A new test suite was added. The code was
ported to the latest bigloo version. A Gentoo ebuild was added to portage.

About: Rsyslog is an enhanced multi-threaded syslogd. Among other
features, it offers support for reliable syslog over TCP and RFC 3195,
writing to MySQL databases, fully configurable output formats (including
great timestamps), the ability to filter on any part of the syslog
message, and on-the-wire message compression. It is designed as a drop-in
replacement for stock syslogd and thus is able to work with the same
configuration file syntax. Of course, some enhanced features require
changing the configuration file, but in general, this should be fairly
easy. 

Changes: This release is the first to support dynamic loading of output
plug-ins. The MySQL output module has been converted into a loadable
plug-in. This enables packagers to create much cleaner solutions by
providing a rsyslog base package and a MySQL add-on package. This release
is recommended for all users.

About: Sciret is an advanced knowledge-based system. Sciret can manage
articles, bookmarks, and documents. Favorites and ToDo lists are also
included in Sciret. 

Changes: The setup scripts were updated. The language files for SMTP
settings were updated and the Norsk translation was updated. Functionality
was added for expiring passwords and obliging users to change them when
that happens. A knowledge base can now be set as public or not. A typing
error in EditArticle.tpl was fixed. This release is not intended for
production use.

About: SDoP (Simple DocBook Processor) reads a DocBook XML file, processes
it into typeset pages, and outputs the result as PostScript (which can
easily be converted to a PDF). It is "simple" because it supports only a
subset of DocBook, and also because it does not make use of a DTD or
stylesheets or any other heavyweight apparatus. It is a single program.
SDoP is used to format the Exim reference manual. 

Changes: A lot of new processing parameters have been added to make it
possible to change the output formatting in many ways.

About: Sudo (su "do") allows a system administrator to give certain users
(or groups of users) the ability to run some (or all) commands as root
while logging all commands and arguments. Sudo operates on a per-command
basis, it is not a replacement for the shell.

Changes: This release adds support for IPv6. It has a fix for the
installation path of the sudo_noexec shared object and a change to support
compilation on old-style K&R compilers.

About: vlock is a program to lock one or more sessions on the Linux
console. This is especially useful for Linux machines which have multiple
users with access to the console. One user may lock his or her session(s)
while still allowing other users to use the system on other virtual
consoles. If desired, the entire console may be locked and virtual console
switching disabled. 

Changes: The locking message is now configurable. A configuration file was
added: ~/.vlockrc. "vlock --new" now works even if stdin is not a terminal.

About: WnDO (formerly Fbdo) is a small suite of complementary tools for
adding behavioral extensions to Gnome, Xfce, Fluxbox, and other window
managers. WnDO offers a plugin platform for tweaking the desktop
environment. It focuses on modifying behavior, rather than adding desktop
widgets. It has minimal dependencies, other than Python. Included modules
handle window alignment, simple window tiling, process management,
wallpaper management, and custom keyboard shortcuts. Wallpaper management
capabilities include per-workspace and randomly-selected wallpaper. It
performs its own key grabbing in order to avoid interaction and conflict
with the equivalent window manager facility. It requires CmDO.

About: The Zero Install Injector makes it possible for users to install
software easily and without the need for root privileges. It takes the URL
of a program's interface description and chooses suitable versions of the
program and all of its dependencies (also identified by URLs) according to
the user's policy settings (eg. "stable", "testing", "minimal network use",
etc). The chosen versions are downloaded and cached and the program is run,
using environment variables to let it find the components.

Changes: Secure sharing of downloads between users is now easier to set
up. The default main loop now uses GLib, making it easier to integrate
with other systems. Various bugs were fixed.
