[001] - axTLS 1.1.6
by Cameron Rich (http://freshmeat.net/users/cameronrich/)
Fri, Aug 17th 2007 05:24
About: axTLS is a highly configurable client/server TLSv1 SSL library
designed for embedded platforms. It comes with a small HTTPS server and
additional test tools. It features a very small footprint, use of TLSv1
(an improvement on SSLv3), session resumption, AES128/AES256 (as well as
RC4), portability across many systems, variable RSA key sizes, a very
simple API, peer client/server verification, certificate chaining, session
renegotiation, highly configurable compile-time options, and interfaces for
C#, VB.NET, Java, and Perl. It also implements a Web server.
Changes: Integration with Lua is now complete. axhttpd (the integrated Web
server) can now handle Lua pages (which are Lua scripts inside HTML pages).
Lua scripts can also call axTLS library code (which is in C), so now SSL
communications using Lua is now possible. Some RC4 speedup has been
implemented.

Office/Business
Office/Business :: Financial
Office/Business :: Financial :: Accounting
About: Blue ERP is a Web based ERP application. Its goal is to provide a
flexible and user friendly interface that can work out of the box and be
modified to suit specific needs easily. The main goals of the project are
to provide a featureful ERP application, to be open in licence and in
spirit, and to be user-friendly by providing adequate documentation and
assistance to users.
Changes: This version of BlueErp is one step closer to being fully stable.
Several bugs were fixed. In particular, it is possible now to have two
windows editing entities. Copying SO to AR now works as it should, and
links from accounts history work too. This release also has an improved
template management for "official" (printable) invoices.

[003] - CacheGuard OS 4.1.3b
by Afshin Tajvidi (http://freshmeat.net/users/tajflow/)

Internet :: Proxy Servers
Internet :: WWW/HTTP
Security
About: CacheGuard is a Linux-based operating system dedicated to Web
traffic control and optimization. It transforms an x86-based machine into
a powerful, Web gateway appliance. It allows you to secure Web traffic for
Web surfers and also Web servers (in reverse mode). It supports HTTP
transparent implementation, HTTP compression, Web caching, URL black- and
whitelists guarding, and Web server load balancing. It features a stateful
firewall with NAT and PAT. It integrates a caching DNS, a DHCP server, a
bandwidth shaper to manage the QoS, a load sharing system, and an HA (high
availability) mode with VRRP and link bonding.
Changes: Port forwarding integrity is properly checked during the "apply"
operation (Cannot NAT the destination IP to the appliance itself). When
adding firewall rules using the Web GUI, an empty entry does not add an
"any to any" rule. To specify an "any to any" rule, the keyword "any" must
be specified for the Source IP, the Destination IP, or the Ports field. The
QoS/Incoming Flows menu item works properly in the Web GUI (a bug due to
content filtering in the Web GUI was fixed). Web site adding works
properly in the Web GUI (a bug due to contenting filtering in the Web GUI
was fixed).

About: ccollect does (pseudo) incremental full backups with different
exclude lists, using hard links and rsync.
Changes: This release always prints the return code of rsync, adds much
more timing information, puts one option per line in rsync_options (not
space separated), adds --sparse as the default option, adds the management
tools (including manpages) add_ccollect_source.sh,
delete_ccollect_source.sh, and list_ccollect_intervals.sh, cleans exit
calls (now always cleanly removing temporary files), and changes the
license from GPLv2 to GPLv3.

[027] - Open Computer Forensics Architecture 2.0.6pl1
by klpd (http://freshmeat.net/users/klpd/)
Fri, Aug 17th 2007 06:00
About: The Open Computer Forensics Architecture (OCFA) is a modular
computer forensics framework to automate the digital forensic process, to
speed up the investigation and give tactical investigators direct access
to the seized data through an easy to use search and browse interface. The
architecture forms an environment where existing forensic tools and
libraries can be easily plugged into the architecture and can thus be made
part of the recursive extraction of data and metadata from digital
evidence. It aims to be highly modular, robust, fault tolerant, recursive,
and scalable in order to be usable in large investigations that spawn
numerous terabytes of evidence data and cover hundreds of evidence items.
Changes: This release fixes a memory leak in the evidence library and adds
a workaround to limit the impact of a memory-hungry indexer module.

Communications :: Chat :: Internet Relay Chat
About: psyced is a distributed chat and messaging system based on the
Protocol for SYnchronous Conferencing. PSYC is multicast and routed
between servers and clients in a scalable and efficient way, but users can
also comfortably use IRC clients, telnet, Web chat, WAP, or Jabber to enter
the network. psyced also communicates with the network of Jabber/XMPP
servers and hosts programmable chat rooms for all of these technologies at
once. It also provides gateways to several IRC networks, but unlike IRC,
everyone can run a server and be an equal member of the PSYC network. It
supports PSYC, XMPP, IRC, TELNET, HTTP, Applet, SMTP, WAP, XML, RSS, and
TLS.
Changes: An inter-server synchronization and remote control protocol has
been added. The ability to enter Jabber chat rooms (XMPP MUC) from PSYC
has been added. There have been great improvements to the PSYC
client-server protocol. There is more flexibility in configuration and
chat room programming. An email to chatroom gateway has been added to the
SMTP server, and psycmail notification can now be compiled directly into
procmail. Many improvements have been made to the IRC, XMPP, and HTTP
implementations. Countless bugs have been fixed.

[043] - watchdog 5.4
by Michael Meskes (http://freshmeat.net/users/meskes/)
Fri, Aug 17th 2007 06:02
About: The Linux kernel can reset the system if serious problems are
detected. This can be implemented via special watchdog hardware, or via a
slightly less reliable software-only watchdog inside the kernel. Either
way, there needs to be a daemon that tells the kernel the system is
working fine. If the daemon stops doing that, the system is reset.
watchdog is such a daemon. It opens /dev/watchdog, and keeps writing to it
often enough to keep the kernel from resetting, at least once per minute.
Each write delays the reboot time another minute. After a minute the
watchdog hardware will cause the reset. In the case of a software
watchdog, the ability to reboot will depend on the state of the machines
and interrupts.
Changes: This release adds an "another-chance" repair script, applies some
changes to the RedHat init script, adds a sysconf script for RedHat, makes
wd_keepalive honor the configuration file option, adds a wd_keepalive
manpage, makes wd_keepalive not start without a watchdog device, fixes
some typos in the watchdog manpage, and updates the Debian files.
