[001] - AntTweakBar 1.1
by philippe_ (http://freshmeat.net/users/philippe_/)
Wed, Sep 5th 2007 05:21
Multimedia :: Graphics
Scientific/Engineering
Software Development
About: AntTweakBar is a small and easy-to-use C/C++ library that allows
programmers to quickly add a light and intuitive GUI into OpenGL or
DirectX based graphic programs to interactively tweak them. Program
variables can be linked to a graphical control that allows users to modify
them. Programmers are not required to design the graphical interface by
providing coordinates or by using a visual UI editor. Controls are
automatically organized following an optional given hierarchy.
Changes: This version includes a long-awaited feature: the String variable
type (and keyboard input for value editing), along with several other
improvements.

System :: Networking
About: Cntlm is an NTLM/NTLM2SR/NTLMv2 authenticating HTTP proxy. It takes
the address of your parent proxy (or proxies) and opens a listening socket,
forwarding each request to it (moving on in a circular list if the active
parent proxy stops working). Along the way, a connection to the parent is
created anew and authenticated or, if available, a previously cached
connection is reused to achieve higher efficiency and faster responses.
When the chain is set up, cntlm should be used as the primary proxy in

Internet
System :: Networking
About: gwhois is a generic whois client (and server) which strives to
know the right server to query for each and every top level domain and IP
address. You can ask gwhois about a domain or IP address, and it will
automatically forward your query to the appropriate server. It even
queries whois servers that can only be reached by a Web form, and outputs
the results as text. It can be used as a client or as a relaying server,
so you can use your normal whois client to ask gwhois.
Changes: The output for the .com and .net TLD was made slightly more
verbose, as the data from Verisign GRS is now included completely. Spanish

[022] - HAproxy 1.3.12.1 (Development)
by Willy Tarreau (http://freshmeat.net/users/wtarreau/)
Wed, Sep 5th 2007 04:48
Internet :: WWW/HTTP
System :: Networking
About: HAproxy is a high-performance and highly-robust TCP/HTTP load
balancer which provides cookie-based persistence, advanced traffic
regulation with surge protection, automatic failover, run-time regex-based
header control, Web-based reporting, advanced logging to help
trouble-shooting buggy applications and/or networks, and a few other
features. Its own event-driven state machine achieves 10,000 hits per
second on modern hardware, even with tens of thousands of simultaneous
connections.
Changes: Under certain conditions involving speculative I/O under Linux
and errors on the client path, it was possible to crash the process due to
multiple entries' allocations for a same socket. This was fixed. Minor
updates were made, such as the ability to automatically refresh the stats
page. The computation of the servers map has been sped up for environments
with hundreds of servers per instance, where it could take a few
milliseconds for each server status change. A new configuration manual has
been started to explain how to use content-switching.

[024] - ipsvd 0.13.0
by Gerrit Pape (http://freshmeat.net/users/pape/)
Wed, Sep 5th 2007 11:17
System :: Networking
About: ipsvd is a set of Internet protocol service daemons for TCP/IP
(optionally SSLv3) and UDP/IP. A daemon waits for incoming connections on
a socket; for new connections, it conditionally runs an arbitrary program
to handle the connection. The daemons can be told to read and follow
pre-defined instructions on how to handle incoming connections; based on
the client's IP address or hostname, they can run different programs, set
a different environment, deny a connection, or set a per host concurrency
limit. ipsvd can be used to run services usually run by inetd or
tcpserver. Normally the daemons are run by a supervisor process, such as
runsv from the runit package.
Changes: The SSL programs have been improved slightly, and build against
the MatrixSSL library version 1.8.3.

Scientific/Engineering :: Geographical
About: Viking is a GTK2-based GPS data editor and viewer. It can download
and show Terraserver maps, import and draw tracks and waypoints over them,
add coordinate lines, make new tracks and waypoints, hide different
things, and more. It uses a hierarchical layering system to organize GPS
data, maps, and other layer types with spatial data (such as coordinate
lines).
Changes: The previous release (0.9.1) contains a serious bug. This new
release solves this problem. It also adds some minor enhancements
concerning the presets of some text input (the export dialog and OSM
upload dialog).

[064] - Votorola 0.0.1
by Michael Allan (http://freshmeat.net/users/mcallan/)

About: Votorola is software for open elections. Its primary application is
an unofficial electoral system in which the public can advance its own
candidates to run in the official elections. Its voter rolls are backed by
a trust network that is physically rooted in community neighborhoods, and
its voting mechanism is powered by a delegate cascade. Each voter has a
single vote to back anyone as a candidate. A candidate's own vote carries
with it the votes of her backers. The top candidates will later be
encouraged to enter the official race. Votorola is designed for continuous
elections. Even after a winner enters office, voters will remain free to
withdraw their backing or transfer it to other candidates.
