[001] - 3rd Edition Dungeons & Dragons Character Generator 3.7
by Slicer (http://freshmeat.net/users/slicer/)
Mon, Nov 26th 2007 06:43
Games/Entertainment :: Role-Playing
About: 3rd Edition Dungeons and Dragons Character Generator is an
HTML/JavaScript Web page that allows the user to quickly and easily create
new Dungeons and Dragons characters. The characters can be of any of the
eleven classes, any of the playable races, and may start at any level from
1 to 220. Generation requires some simple input, after which the character
is displayed on a basic character sheet. It allows you to select your
starting stats, add ability points, and pick skills, equipment, feats, and
spells. It runs on most operating systems with most modern browsers.
Changes: This release fixes some minor issues with equipped items. If a
character sells a shield or armour they are wearing, the item is removed.
There are minor fixes to saving and loading characters with equipped
items.

Software Development :: Libraries
About: ABL (Abstract Basic List) is a flexible abstract list library
defined using the C preprocessor. It allows you to define linked lists of
arbitrary types very easily. You also can use these lists as stacks or
queues. You can easily define complicated types like a list of lists. It
contains a set of functions to work on lists, including higher order
functions for filtering and so on. The list includes detailed
documentation in texinfo format.
Changes: New functions: sort, combsort, reproduce, and reduce. get_car has
been deleted (use get_head). The function nreverse has been renamed to
reverse. The documentation has been improved. This release is under the
LGPLv3 or later.

Information Management :: Issue Tracking
Software Development :: Bug Tracking
About: AgileTrack is an agile development planning and iteration tracking
tool. It assists in the creation and life-cycle of iterations, projects,
stories, tasks, and bugs. It is focused on simplicity and practicality.
Its interface is designed to be useful specifically for software
developers on small development teams with rapidly-changing priorities and
requirements. Its primary interface for developers is geared toward
availability, speed, and purpose. It is flexible and minimalistic with
respect to the data that is required for records. It is designed to be
compatible with agile development methodologies, particularly Extreme
Programming.
Changes: This release takes care of several minor bugs and adds a couple
of enhancements. The auto-complete combo box works correctly again. The
HSQL schema creation code was failing in non-English locales. A couple of
small reporting issues were resolved. Ctrl-E was added as a hotkey to
toggle "Edit Mode" in issue lists. Iterations in the "Iterations" tab can
be sorted by name. The main issues list auto-refreshes when new issues are
created. The Dutch language translation has been updated.

Software Development
Software Development :: Build Tools
Software Development :: Quality Assurance
About: AnthillPro is a build management and lifecycle automation server
for the enterprise that makes the build and release process easy and
efficient. As a continuous integration server, it can produce a new build
for every developer check-in. The entire team can be alerted to problems
via email or instant message. Each build can then be promoted to higher
statuses, or deployed to various servers and environments using your
scripts. At every step, AnthillPro records who did what to keep your
auditors happy.
Changes: The User Interface underwent significant changes to increase user
productivity and make AnthillPro more intuitive. Now AJAX-enabled, this
release combines many common processes reducing the time users spend
navigating from page to page. It introduces a hierarchical project
management scheme enabling users to organize projects, workflows, and jobs
into folders, and introduces new metrics and reports. It also introduces a
job library and a workflow library, allowing users to set up standardized
build practices by reusing configuration across multiple projects.

by roli (http://freshmeat.net/users/schmitzr/)
Mon, Nov 26th 2007 05:49
Utilities
About: csvdiff is a simple script for comparing two files of
comma-separated values with each other. In contrast to standard diff, it
will show the number of the record where the difference occurs, the column
number, and (if provided) the fieldname which is different. The separator
can be set to any value you want, not just a comma. It also provides
support for multiple column keys, the ability to ignore case and trim
leading/tailing spaces, and the ability to ignore selected columns such as
timestamps.
Changes: The only new function in this release is that the original line
number will be shown if you compare without a key but with sort/grade. The
rest of the work was only cleanup, moving code from main into functions and
adding a lot of comments.

System :: Archiving
System :: Archiving :: Backup
About: Nexenta Storage Appliance is designed and built to operate as a 2nd
tier storage alongside pre-existing commercial storage, providing online
continuation of data for months and years, with tapes relegated to
archival purposes only. The appliance is targeted for 2nd-tier NAS and
iSCSI applications requiring extremely low cost storage as well as
dramatically simplified provisioning, expansion, backup, replication, and

tool. The user interface puts a strong emphasis on straightforward
visualization of your data and processes. It will help you cleanse your
data, validate and correct addresses, and identify and remove duplicate
records. Thus, you can provide your business users with complete and
accurate data, and a single view of each customer, product, sales rep, and
business unit.
Changes: This release adds a user preference for auto-login into a
repository and new munge steps, including data type conversion steps (eg.
Date-to-String) and a CSV writer step. it is now possible to specify a
set of columns to use as the unique index, even if the table doesn't have
a primary key. Of particular importance to new users following the example
in the documentation, the example table can now be created properly in the
built-in database. Matching, merging, and cleansing projects are now fully
functional in the built-in repository as well.

a true computer language with control-flow constructions for iteration and
alternation, and it allows users to add additional functionality by
defining new functions. For computationally intensive tasks, Fortran and C
code can be linked and called at run time.
Changes: This is a maintenance release and fixes a number of mostly minor
bugs and platform issues, as well as a couple of major problems. The most
important issues were save-to-postscript on Windows, a Tcl/Tk event loop
with X11, and a build issue on recent versions of Mac OS X.

Software Development :: Interpreters
About: Seed7 is a general purpose programming language. It is a higher
level language compared to Ada, C++, and Java. In Seed7, new statements
and operators can be declared easily. Functions with type results and type
parameters are more elegant than a template or generics concept. Object
orientation is used when it brings advantages and not in places when other
solutions are more obvious. Although Seed7 contains several concepts of
other programming languages, it is generally not considered as a direct
descendant of any other programming language.
Changes: The management of the lines and filenames of objects was
improved. The stritext.s7i library, which supports string array based text
files, was added. The mahjong.sd7 program was improved to draw darker
vertical surfaces. The mahjong tiles of mahjng32.s7i were improved to
contain bigger digits. The functions getHtmlSymbolOrComment, gray, file,
and line were added. The compiler was improved to support functions with
an "in var" parameter called by dynamic dispatch functions with a
corresponding "val" parameter. An error was fixed in the strIpos function,
and test cases were added to chkstr.sd7.

Software Development :: Libraries :: Application Frameworks
About: ServerKit helps developers quickly build efficient, scalable, and
uniformly configured, installed, and executed multi-threaded server
applications for Linux. A core server program handles configuration
parsing, database connection pool creation, and switching of users.
Application-specific modules are loaded at runtime and access the already
parsed configuration data and database connection pools via simple
well-defined program interfaces. ServerKit also provides a rich API for
quick and painless module development.
Changes: A new option has been added to server_thread_pool_new() and
server_queue_new() for enabling caller-supplied queue space. Some
server_heap_t cleanups have been done to improve efficiency.

Communications :: Chat :: Internet Relay Chat
Internet
System :: Logging
About: StatsServ is a little program which emulates an ever smaller IRC
server (in regard to the commands it handles) and transfers statistics
from IRC into a database. You can then use the data, for example, on a Web
site where you want to display the latest statistics. Statistics consist of
the uptime of each server in the network, a list of channels, including
their topic (except for secret (+s) and private (+p) channels), and the
number of users in the network. You can normally get these statistics via
/stats u, /list, and /lusers (if /stats u is supported on the network and
enabled for normal users).
Changes: This release adds the compile flag NO_UNREALIRCD; set this using
/configure --no-unrealircd if you're not running UnrealIRCd. StatsServ
will fork to the background now by default, and the option -f has been
added to stay in the foreground. There are various compatibility fixes,
especially for ngircd (NJOIN message, JOIN, TOPIC, RAW266, SERVER message,
and reduction of nicknames to 9 characters).

[072] - Stunnix JavaScript Obfuscator and Encoder 3.9
by Stunnix (http://freshmeat.net/users/stunnix/)
Mon, Nov 26th 2007 11:29
Internet
Software Development :: Code Generators
Software Development :: Compilers
About: Stunnix JS-Obfus protects your JavaScript code from potential
analyzing/studying/reworking by unwanted parties. It's both an obfuscator
and encoder for the JavaScript/JScript source code. It converts the
JavaScript/JScript source files into highly mangled and obfuscated form,
making it extremely difficult to study, analyse, reuse, and re-work for
competitors or customers, while fully retaining functionality of the
original source code, and then encodes it afterwards, making it completely
unreadable. There are a lot of options to control all aspects of code
hiding, and full support for all syntax constructs. It is designed to be
multi-module aware.
Changes: This version adds the ability to extract symbols that define an
API in all files in any directory the user specifies, and to use the
created list of symbols as exceptions. Minor improvements have been made
to Project Manager.

[073] - Super CSV 1.20
by Dr. Kasper Graversen (http://freshmeat.net/users/kbilsted/)
Mon, Nov 26th 2007 13:55
About: Super CSV is a CSV package for the Java 5+ platform. It operates on
streams rather than file names, so you can read and write files of any
encoding from any kind of source. It operates on maps and POJO beans, so
you don't have to convert to or from String arrays. It has a powerful
notion of a cellprocessor which enables you to regard columns in your CSV
files as real types such as numbers and dates rather than as strings.
Additionally, the processors can also act as a constraint mechanism,
enabling you to naturally specify constraints on your data.
Changes: This release adds the ConvertNullTo cell processor, which enables
better support for writing partial objects, maps. and lists. It changes
method signatures to use the Java 5 "..." notation to make the programming
more natural. There is a small bugfix in processor StrLen.

[074] - Sylbi 0.01
by arbingersys (http://freshmeat.net/users/arbingersys/)
Mon, Nov 26th 2007 21:31
About: Sylbi is a conversation system that is not a forum and not a
blogging platform, but a combination of the two. It grew from the idea
that a blog with comments and a forum only differ in their perspective of
the conversation. Both provide a chronological set of postings, initiated
by someone, and, (potentially) replied to by others. The main difference
is the perspective they present: a blog presents the perspective of the
blog owner(s), while a forum presents the perspective of the forum and a
topic defined in the forum. Sylbi allows you to look at conversations
either way.
Changes: This release contains a functioning system and has been tested to
run on WAMP and LAMP configurations. Users can sign up, post (new entries
or response), and configure their "blog". Admins can set up new topics and
move conversations between them. The logic Sylbi uses to automatically
move conversations into appropriate topics also exists, although it
probably needs improvement.
