About: Aspic is a program that generates line art images from a text
description of a picture that contains commands such as "line", "box",
"circle", and "arc". Aspic's concept is similar to the "pic" command.
Output is either encapsulated PostScript, or Scalable Vector Graphics
(SVG). Quite complex pictures can be constructed from Aspic's primitives,
which include facilities for positioning text alongside graphics, and the
use of colour.

About: Butterfly Container is a Java dependency injection container. It is
smaller (~100KB jar), yet more flexible and easier to use than Spring,
Pico, and Guice (at least in the developers' opinion). Instead of XML,
Butterfly Container is configured using a simple, flexible, Java-like
configuration language, or by plugging plain non-annotation,
non-reflection Java factories into the container. There are no external
dependencies.

About: cdck is a simple program for verifying CD/DVD quality. Even if all
files on the disc are readable, some sectors having bad timing and could
become unreadable in the future. The tool reads a disc sector by sector,
recording all reading timings, and then tells you its verdict. It can
optionally write a timing table into a text file usable by gnuplot, from
which graphs can be drawn.
Changes: Info mode (print CD/DVD information and quit) is now the default.

About: cpt aims to be running in front of any HTTPS server. It forwards
all requests that don't call for a "CONNECT .." to the normal HTTPS
server. There is no error handling for mistaken requests; they go straight
to the default server. A request that doesn't pass the conditions is passed
forward too, and the Web server will handle it (with the default error
page). Users should be unaware that cpt is running as a proxy.
Changes: cpt was not able to drop privileges, because of incorrect order
in setgid/setuid.

About: EiffelStudio is an IDE for the Eiffel language (ECMA-367, ISO/IEC

About: G4L is a hard disk and partition imaging and cloning tool. The
created images are optionally compressed, and they can be stored on a
local hard drive or transferred to an anonymous FTP server. A drive can be
cloned using the "Click'n'Clone" function. G4L supports file splitting if
the local filesystem does not support writing files >2GB. The included
kernel supports ATA, serial-ATA, and SCSI drives. Common network cards are
supported. It is packaged as a bootable CD image with an ncurses GUI for
easy use.
Changes: Updated kernels to support newer hardware, updates to support
programs, and some cleanups to the libraries that are required. Only minor
changes were made to the program script.

About: G4L is a hard disk and partition imaging and cloning tool. The
created images are optionally compressed, and they can be stored on a
local hard drive or transferred to an anonymous FTP server. A drive can be
cloned using the "Click'n'Clone" function. G4L supports file splitting if
the local filesystem does not support writing files >2GB. The included
kernel supports ATA, serial-ATA, and SCSI drives. Common network cards are
supported. It is packaged as a bootable CD image with an ncurses GUI for
easy use.
Changes: Updated kernels to support newer hardware, updates to support
programs, and some cleanups to the libraries that are required. Only minor
changes were made to the program script.

About: Ghostscript is a processor for PostScript and PDF files. It can
rasterize these files to a wide variety of printers, devices for screen
preview, and image file formats. Since applications tend to prepare pages
for printing in a high-level format such as PostScript, most Unix users
with low-level bitmap printers, such as inkjets, use GhostScript as part
of the printing process. In addition, Ghostscript is capable of converting
PostScript files, functionality comparable to Adobe Acrobat Distiller, but
on the command line. In addition, Ghostscript is used for file import and
viewing by a great many other applications, including xv, ImageMagick,
gimp, and xdvi. Several GUI wrappers for viewing PostScript and PDF files
exist, including GSview, ghostview, gv, ggv, and kghostview. This is far
from a comprehensive list.
Changes: The tiffsep device was fixed for using more than 8 colorants.
Shadings, overprinting, and transparency were optimized and are
substantially faster. Changes were made to prevent nearly unbounded growth
in memory usage and corresponding performance problems on a few test cases.
The 'pdfwrite' device was improved to fix some compatibility issues with
PDF/A and to improve some font embedding and other issues. The halftone
tile cache sizes and cache effectiveness were improved to help the
performance when tiling with large cells or threshold arrays. Many other
issues were resolved.

About: GOZERBOT is an IRC and Jabber bot. It can fetch RSS feeds, keep
todo and shopping lists, manage karma and quotes, and remember items. It
supports plugins, has a built-in Web server, and can communicate with
other bots. It can also relay messages received by UDP to a channel or
person, which could be useful for monitoring systems. Relaying between IRC
and Jabber is also possible.
Changes: Third party addons for plugins (needs setup.py to work). Reboots
without disconnects (IRC only for now). IPv6 UDP support. Queues are used
all over the place to reduce thread usage. The normal IRC log format is
now supported (simplelog plugin). IRC can be disabled for Jabber-only
usage. owneruserhost is now a list so that multiple userhosts can be used.
The Jabber reconnect code is improved. RSS error reporting is improved. UDP
code is improved, especially in the Jabber case. There are many other
bugfixes.

About: Imageprot splits a JPEG or PNG image into small sub-images and
creates an HTML page that assembles them back into the complete, original
image in a Web browser. You can use this tool to simply protect your
images from the "Save Image As" action and browser cache exploring. There
is an option to generate random sub-image names, so it is hard to build
the original image without analysing HTML code. This program, for obvious
reasons, does not protect from downloading your image via the screen
capture functionality present in most modern operating systems.

About: IP::Country is a tool for fast lookup of country codes from IP
addresses. Finding out the country of a client using only the IP address
can be difficult. Looking up the domain name associated with that address
can provide some help, but many IP address are not reverse mapped to any
useful domain, and the most common domain (.com) offers no help when
looking for country. This module comes bundled with a database of
countries where various IP addresses have been assigned. Although the
country of assignment will probably be the country associated with a large
ISP rather than the client herself, this is probably good enough for most
log analysis applications, and under test has proved to be as accurate as
reverse-DNS and WHOIS lookup.

About: The LinuxSpeaks project is a collection of scripts and library

About: WikklyText is a Python-based wiki and modular library for creating
custom wikitext rendering applications. Its wikitext engine is compatible
with the TiddlyWiki markup language. It functions equally well as a
wiki-on-a-stick or as a multiuser wiki behind Apache. It includes a Drupal
plugin as well.
Changes: This release features the addition of the wiki metatool "wik".
With this tool, WikklyText now provides a full-blown wiki server. It is
equally suitable for use as a wiki-on-a-stick as well as for serving a
multiuser wiki behind Apache. The Drupal plugin has been updated for this
release. Hundreds of other changes and fixes have been applied.
