About: cdrtools (formerly cdrecord) creates home-burned CDs/DVDs with a
CDR/CDRW/DVD recorder. It works as a burn engine for several applications.
It supports CD/DVD recorders from many different vendors; all SCSI-3/mmc-
and ATAPI/mmc-compliant drives should also work. Supported features
include IDE/ATAPI, parallel port, and SCSI drives, audio CDs, data CDs,
and mixed CDs, full multi-session support, CDRWs (rewritable), DVD-R/-RW,
DVD+R/+RW, TAO, DAO, RAW, and human-readable error messages. cdrtools
includes remote SCSI support and can access local or remote CD/DVD
writers.

Changes: libsiconv/sic_nls.c has been modified to allow compilation with
older GCC versions. cdrecord/readcd/cdda2wav now support an enhanced
/etc/default/cdrecord file with an additional parameter to specify the
maximum transfer size for a device. CDR_FORCESPEED=any now works for
cdrecord to switch off DMA speed test results. cdrecord compiles again
with a K&R compiler. A "blank emulation" layer has been added to the
BluRay driver.

About: gscan2pdf is a GUI to ease the process of producing PDFs from
scanned documents. You scan in one or several pages and create a PDF of
selected pages. Scanning is handled with SANE via scanimage. PDF
conversion is done by PDF::API2. Perl is used for portability and ease of
programming, with gtk2-perl for the GUI.

Changes: An incorrect error message when saving an image was fixed. TMPDIR
may now be chosen through Edit/Preferences. The Frontends, Save options,
and Restore window settings were moved to Edit/Preferences. The unsharp
mask tool was added. The Save PDF, Save Image, and Save DjVu dialogs were
merged. A page range is requested when importing a DjVu with more than one
page, and the pages are extracted singly. A progress bar is shown while
rotating. Rotate options were added to the scan dialog. tiffcp is used
rather than tiffsplit to import TIFFs. An initial Slovenian translation
was made, and updates were made to the other translations.

About: IkeWiki is a new kind of Wiki (a so-called "Semantic Wiki")
developed by Salzburg Research that allows users to collaboratively
annotate pages and links between pages with semantic annotations. Such
annotations are useful because they give machines a certain amount of
"understanding" of the content that goes beyond merely displaying the
page. This information can then, for example, be used for context-specific
presentation of pages, advanced querying, consistency verification, or
drawing conclusions.

to a fully AJAX enabled user interface based on Dojo, a considerably
improved knowledge representation mechanism, and a component framework for

About: JPerf is a perfect hash function generator for Java. The principle
of perfect hashing is to reduce the average constant overhead of a hash
table by precomputing a hash function which is optimal for the key set.
Other advantages include a reduction in memory usage. Finding such a hash
function is hard, especially in the general case. These run-time savings
come at a cost of increased map creation time. JPerf can create a perfect
hash function for a given set of keys and values.

and server. It is written using the Gauche implementation of Scheme. It
has the advantage that you can use "continuations" easily, so you can

fundamental data type, you can use Kahua's Object Database to persist
data, and you can modify the function being run, supporting incremental
development.

Changes: A bogus cookie bug and some typos were fixed. kahua.el now
displays results which kahua-shell returns in a mini-buffer.

About: Krypt is a simple application that sits in the system tray and
provides easy access to the list of volumes encrypted with LUKS. It is
possible to quickly decrypt, encrypt back, mount, and umount such devices.
It also monitors HAL activity, and responds by showing a pop-up with
password prompt. When the password is provided, KDE's media manager kicks
in and does all the job.

About: MindTerm is a complete ssh-client in pure Java. It can be used

packages of importance are provided (terminal, ssh, and security). The
