About: AgileWiki is meant to create software systems which are fluid,
easily configured and can be reorganized on-the-fly to meet ever changing
requirements. It includes a COW-based database, the Rolonics programming
paradigm, and semantic inferencing.
Changes: The COODBMS server is now fully functional, supporting RoleML
transactions and queries. More utilities have been added: listDatabases,
createMasterAccount, createAccount, and setPassword. The necessary hooks
have been added to the server code for extensibility.

[002] - AjaXplorer 2.3.3
by Charles du Jeu (http://freshmeat.net/users/cdujeu/)
Sat, Mar 15th 2008 12:34
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Site Management
Office/Business :: Groupware
About: AjaXplorer is an easy-to-install file explorer for remotely
managing files on a Web server. Its rich GUI makes it accessible to any
end-user. Its main features are common file actions (uploading,
downloading, moving, renaming, etc.), online file editing, image preview,
a bookmarks system, and more. It requires PHP to run and FTP access only
for installation.
Changes: A major architecture change was made. All the actions are
configured via an XML registry file shared by both the server and the
client, enabling easy extension of the API. The ability to browse a remote
server implementing the AjaXplorer API was added. This is a release
candidate for 2.4.

Communications :: File Sharing
Internet :: File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
Internet :: WWW/HTTP
About: aria2 is a utility for downloading files. The supported protocols
are HTTP(S), FTP, BitTorrent, and Metalink. It has a powerful segmented
downloading ability, downloading a file from multiple sources and multiple
protocols and utilizing your download bandwidth to the maximum. It supports
downloading a file from HTTP(S)/FTP and BitTorrent at the same time, while
the data downloaded from HTTP(S)/FTP is uploaded to the BitTorrent swarm.
Using Metalink's chunk checksums, aria2 automatically validates chunks of
data while downloading a file like BitTorrent.
Changes: This release fixes a compilation error with --disable-nls, high
memory usage with DHT, and a compilation error with g++ 4.3. A Simplified

[007] - autoboot 2
by Andi Kleen (http://freshmeat.net/users/andikleen/)
Sat, Mar 15th 2008 05:02
Software Development :: Testing
System :: Operating System Kernels :: Linux
About: autoboot is a job scheduler/watchdog to automatically compile/boot
and run test suites with experimental Linux kernels. It runs from a
central server and a pool of clients. The central server builds various
kernels, then automatically boots a subset of them on the clients and runs
test suites (like autotest). The server is very careful to watch the
clients for hangs and power switch them as needed, and will also
automatically fetch serial logs from a console server. All the resulting
information is stored in a unique output directory for each for easy post
processing. autoboot is a collection of bash shell scripts. It will need
some adaption for local infrastructure.
Changes: Lots of minor changes and support for the new unified arch/x86
architecture of the Linux kernel.

[008] - b64 1.3.1
by Dr Proctor (http://freshmeat.net/users/DrProctor/)
Sat, Mar 15th 2008 05:00
About: b64 is a very small, simple, and efficient C library that provides
Base64 encoding and decoding according to RFC 1113. It has no dependencies
on any third-party libraries other than the C standard libary or operating
system services. It also comes with a flexible C++ API.
Changes: The C++ API was enhanced to provide the ability to customize the
b64 namespace name (in C++ compilation units). All of the
example/sample/test directories and files were renamed to fit in with the
prevailing standard in all Synesis/STLSoft-related libraries (i.e.
example_c_1/example_c_1.c is now example.c.1/example.c.1.c). This version
requires 1.9.26 of STLSoft.

About: Fakeroot-ng runs a program while fooling it into thinking it is
running with root privileges. When the program does something that only
root can do (e.g. create a device file), fakeroot-ng emulates the
appropriate system calls so that the program gets a consistent view of its
actions. Unlike the original fakeroot, fakeroot-ng uses the ptrace

About: The findutils package consists of three programs. "find" is a
program which searches a directory tree to find a file or group of files.
It walks the directory tree and reports all occurrences of a file matching
the user's specifications. "locate" scans one or more databases of
filenames and displays any matches. "xargs" builds and executes command
lines by gathering together arguments it reads on the standard input. Most
often, these arguments are lists of file names generated by "find".

by murlen (http://freshmeat.net/users/murlen/)
Sat, Mar 15th 2008 23:06
Software Development :: Interpreters
Software Development :: Libraries
About: FScript is an extremely simple scripting language. Its intended use
is as an embedded language in other Java programs. It is very simple to
embed; it can be as simple as sub-classing one class to add your own
functionality. However, it is not a complete programming language, as it
has no library of standard functions (such as IO and string processing).
FScript supplies base functionality (such as flow control, variable
handling, and basic math operations) that can extended by the host
application. The only requirement is a Java 2 runtime environment.
Changes: Support for the "elseif" construct was added. A new "exit"
keyword and supporting class method were included.

Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: CD Audio
Multimedia :: Video
Software Development :: Libraries
About: The GNU Compact Disc Input and Control library encapsulates CD-ROM
reading and control for applications wishing to be oblivious to the OS-
and device-dependent properties of a CD-ROM. It provides an API for access
to SCSI-MMC (multimedia commands) and support for CD image types like
BIN/CUE, cdrdao's TOC, and Nero's NRG, which gives applications using the
library the ability to read disc images as though they were CDs. ISO-9660
filesystem support is included, as are utility programs for displaying CD
and CD-ROM drive information, reading the blocks of a CD, and extracting
files from an ISO-9660 filesytem image. cdparanoia is also included.
Changes: get_media_changed was added for FreeBSD. A log summary output was
added in cd-paranoia. Ore string bounds checking was added to eliminate
known string overflow conditions. Some small packaging bugs were fixed.

[048] - WP Clipart 5.6
by Paul Sherman (http://freshmeat.net/users/psherma1/)
Sat, Mar 15th 2008 22:45
Multimedia :: Graphics :: Presentation
Text Processing :: General
About: WP Clipart is an attempt to make a useful clipart package of public
domain images for use in word processors. It includes an optional
cross-platform viewer/editor written with Python/wxWidgets. The collectoin
contains non-transparent PNG images, scaled down images, midtones expanded
for inkjet print quality, etc. It is suitable for documents as well as Web
graphics, but also has business application (credit cards, promo graphics)
and educational uses (pictures of all US presidents, all country flags
alphabetically listed, all US states, historical figures, and a sign
language alphabet).
Changes: The viewer/editor interface was changed in that a single click
displays a thumbnail, rather than a double click. A bit of code was put
in, however, to prevent errors when users click too fast, especially on
older machines. The ZIP file no longer contains any Windows files for the
viewer, just Python source for use with Linux. Windows users can get
binary executables with the installers.

information about the configuration and performance of MAC/PHY layers. The
interface is fully implemented and is available for Linux over the MadWifi
802.11 driver.
Changes: Mechanisms enabling bidirectional exchanges of metrics between
neighbouring nodes were implemented. A code example implementing the ETX
metric "Expected Transmission Count" was added. The neighboring module was
implemented, maintaining an updated table of the active neighbors by
triggering updates necessary to automate XIAN Nano-protocol message
exchanges.
