About: Absolute Linux is a lightweight Slackware derivative that uses an
Icewm, pcmanfm, ROX-Filer, ivman, and others to create a lightweight yet
easy to use distribution. Installation is text-based but simplified, and
all packages are installed at once. It can run on a Pentium MMX with 64MB
of RAM (PII 400 with 128MB recommended). It features ease of browsing any
connected device in pcmanfm and an auto-popup menu for inserted playable
media. "Restricted" codecs are available to those eligible via a root-user
installer. Along with CD2 there is a large range of software compiled on
and for Absolute, including OpenOffice, Mplayer, GIMP, and K3B.
Changes: wicd was updated (to 1.4.2-i486-2AL). Changes were made to
daemon.py and networking.py to accommodate Slackware networking scripts
without altering them. The presence of other networking interfaces no
longer prevents operation. A patch was added to gui.py to prevent entry of
an empty network name in wired interface setup, since this caused the
daemon to crash upon restart. kdelibs was updated to 3.5.9 with Absolute
modifications. K3B was updated to 1.0.5 and includes plugin support for
ffmpeg use. The multimedia installer was updated. ffmpeg now installs
properly. Performance was tweaked.

About: AgileWiki is meant to create software systems which are fluid,
easily configured and can be reorganized on-the-fly to meet ever changing
requirements. It includes a COW-based database, the Rolonics programming
paradigm, and semantic inferencing.
Changes: The way in which freed blocks are processed was reworked - the
code was not working when there were multiple branches/snapshots. This
fixes all known pending errors. A validation table was added to prevent
pending errors from corrupting the database. Free validates against this
table. Small bugs related to syntax error handling and time navigation were
fixed.

formats. The UI is clean, simple, and customizable. The player is easy to
configure and embed into your home page, site, or blog. The player supports
progressive download with HTTP and also streaming with Lighttpd, PHP, and
other scripting, Flash Media Server, and Red5. It also supports MP3 audio.
Changes: Setting the initial volume percentage did not take effect before
the volume slider was touched. Non-hardware scaled full-screen did not
scale the video up when the menu was hidden. This release pauses the player
before opening the page linked with the clip specific linkUrl variable. SWF
viewing has been fixed. The controlBar's play button did not work after
pressing stop or after rewinding to the beginning. The controlsOverVideo:
'no' setting was fixed: it's again possible to always have the controls
below the video.

About: open-cgf provides a 3GPP-compliant charging gateway function (CGF)
as a sink for SGSN, GGSN, and other streamed CDRs on the 3GPP Ga/Gz
interface using GTP' (GTP prime). Refer to 3GPP 32.295. These are common
packet-switched data elements of GSM/UMTS mobile telephone networks. It
aims to supply a telco-grade solution to this common, albeit very
specialized, need. It does not decode the ASN.1 CDRs, but simply and
reliably writes them to disk for later processing.

About: RRCP (Realtek Remote Configuration Protocol) is a protocol for
making some specific low-cost dumb Ethernet switches act like more
expensive managed switches with no or little hardware modifications.
OpenRRCP is a cross-platform RRCP-based toolset that is able to detect,
configure, and fetch status from such Ethernet switches. Realtek RTL8316B,
RTL8324, RTL8326, and RTL8326S chips are supported. On the host side, Linux
and FreeBSD are fully supported. NetBSD and OpenBSD are also reported to
compile and run this toolset.
Changes: Switch/ship auto-detection was fixed. Gigabit port order was
fixed for the Asus GigaX 1024P. Support for Repotec g3224 and Edimax
ES-3116P switches was added.

About: pypty is a tty logger aimed at heavy script(1) users who like to
(or would like to start to) log everything they do on important systems. It
creates one (or two, if you ask for timing data) file(s) per day. The
distribution also includes "script-replay", which is somewhat like the
traditional scriptreplay - that is, it's for replaying tty logs - but it
does not require timing data and lets you step forward and back in the log.
Changes: This release includes a new program: script-replay, which is for
replaying tty logs without requiring a timing file. It also allows
(requires) you to step forward and backward in a file at your own pace. it
also has a small responsiveness fix.

About: Shed Skin is an experimental Python-to-C++ compiler. It accepts
pure but implicitly statically typed Python programs and generates
optimized C++ code. This means that in combination with a C++ compiler, it
allows for translation of pure Python programs into highly efficient
machine language. For a set of 16 non-trivial test programs, measurements
show a typical speedup of 2-40 over Psyco, about 10 on average, and 2-220
over CPython, about 35 on average. Shed Skin also outputs annotated source
code.
Changes: Basic 'socket' support, support for os.{popen3, popen4}, support
for time.strptime under Windows, options for changing the output directory
and disabling annotation, support for 'cmp' and 'reverse' arguments of
'sorted' and 'list.sort', fixes for cross-module default arguments,
important fixes for type inference and inheritance, and many minor
bugfixes.

About: slackrep is a very handy reporting tool for the Slackware Linux
distribution. It generates reports about the status of your packages. You
can, for example, check which patches are pending to install or check the
integrity of your installed packages.
Changes: A cleanup script is now created from slackpkg each time you run
slackpkg update. If the cleanup is modified, this program keeps running.
Menus have been improved, eliminating confusion. New files have been
included in the cache.

About: SpeedCrunch is a fast and compact calculator. It is designed to be
controlled using the keyboard. There is support for a few built-in
functions (with an autocomplete feature) as well as variables. The result
is shown in a scrollable window, and a history of expressions is available
with up and down arrows.
Changes: This release fixes several bugs. For example, the virtual keypad
button "=" works correctly. Potential crashes due to memory access error
were fixed. The back and forward buttons now have their correct meanings in
RTL languages like Hebrew. Basque, Catalan, and Simplified Chinese
translations were added. A Mac OS X Universal binary is available (first
since version 0.7). The Microsoft Windows installer and portable package
were reduced to around half of the size compared to version 0.10.

About: xorriso creates, loads, manipulates, and writes ISO 9660 filesystem
images with Rock Ridge extensions. It can load the management information
of existing ISO images, and it writes the session results to optical media

(or later), libc, and libpthread. No separate mkisofs and no CD/DVD burn
program are needed.
