About: aria2 is a utility for downloading files. The supported protocols
are HTTP(S), FTP, BitTorrent, and Metalink. It has a powerful segmented
downloading ability, downloading a file from multiple sources and multiple
protocols and utilizing your download bandwidth to the maximum. It supports
downloading a file from HTTP(S)/FTP and BitTorrent at the same time, while
the data downloaded from HTTP(S)/FTP is uploaded to the BitTorrent swarm.
Using Metalink's chunk checksums, aria2 automatically validates chunks of
data while downloading a file like BitTorrent.
Changes: This release adds epoll support for Linux and the ability to
limit the number of files to be opened to support more than 1024 files in a
multi-file torrent. Several bugs in BitTorrent downloads are fixed. From
this release, aria2 downloads a file using 5 connections in HTTP/FTP by
default, and the behavior of the -s option has changed.

WAR files. WAR file obfuscation requires installing DashO's Ant tasks.

About: Dar is a shell command that makes backup of a directory tree and
files. Its features include splitting archives over several files, CDs,
ZIPs, or floppies, compression, full or differential backups, strong
encryption, proper saving and restoration of hard links and extended
attributes, remote backup using pipes and external command (such as ssh),
and rearrangement of the "slices" of an existing archive. It can now run
commands between slices, encrypt archives, and quickly retrieve individual
files from differential and full backups. Dar also has external GUI like
kdar for Linux, thanks to the well documented API.
Changes: Fixes include corrupted archive generation in some rare and
random cases when using Blowfish strong encryption (this type of corruption
can be detected by testing your archive with dar). There is no security
issue here. Some minor speed optimizations are also included.

About: gcin (Gtk Chinese INput application in X) is a Chinese input method
server for Big5 Traditional Chinese character sets. It features a GTK user
interface. It is a very popular Chinese input method (IM) server in Taiwan,
which focuses mainly on Traditional Chinese. Its IM table format is almost
the same as xcin, and comes with a conversion program to help xcin users
transfer their settings. A GUI interface is used for gcin settings such as
your favorite Chinese input table and keyboard layout. It is often
straightforward for users to append other input tables not originally
included in the release package, or tables used by other IMs such as scim.
Changes: This release has more feature functions. A core dump with Firefox
3.0/gnome-terminal has been fixed.

About: Gimp User Filter is a work-alike to Adobe's Filter Factory. It is a
generic image processing plug-in that can be used to create new filters for
The GIMP without having to go through the process of learning about The
GIMP's SDK. Many freely available filters that have been created for Filter
Factory can also be used with this plug-in.
Changes: This is a development release of the User Filter plugin for The
Gimp. It fixes minor bugs (default values for map tooltips, comma operators
working inside parenthesis, errors in code generated by uf2c) and adds new
features (filter control stepping, different modes for off-image source
pixel handling) while still retaining code-level compatibility with filters

Internet radio app for making a live radio show or podcast. Features
include two main media players with a crossfader, a jingle player,
microphone signal processing (compressor and noise gate), IRC track
announcements with X-Chat, an automatic stream shut-off timer, MP3 or Ogg
streaming and recording at various bit rates, aux input for connecting
external JACK aware applications, and audio level meters.
Changes: An Ogg FLAC encoder has been added. There is a fix in oggdec.c
seek and tell callbacks, and a fix to end of stream detection. IDJC is now
consistent across differing JACK sample rates. Some compressor settings
have been changed to times and time constants. Media player watchdog
timeout has been increased to accommodate very large media files. Ogg
metadata updates occur without delay when using the seek bar. The keyword
managed now appears in the encoder configuration bar when Vorbis bitrates
are managed. There is a new Vorbis configurator. The default text in the
jack ports tab now reads system instead of alsa_pcm.

SCSI I/O statistics. While better tools exist for monitoring disk activity,
SCSI (or Fibre Channel) tapes have been neglected so far. This module

in programs. When a program is run under Valgrind's supervision, all reads
and writes of memory are checked, and calls to malloc/new/free/delete are
intercepted. As a result, Valgrind can detect problems such as use of
uninitialized memory, reading/writing of memory after it has been freed,
reading/writing off the end of malloced blocks, reading/writing
inappropriate areas on the stack, memory leaks in which pointers to
malloced blocks are lost forever, passing of uninitialized and/or
unaddressable memory to system calls, and mismatched use of malloc/new/new
[] vs. free/delete/delete [].
