temperature data. Support for the deprecated /proc interface has been
dropped. Batteries are now also rescanned dynamically.

About: SPJson is a simple stream-oriented JSON parser that supports
pull-model and DOM-model XML parsing. As the user passes it chunks of a
JSON document, it identifies objects, arrays, or other entities and returns
the appropriate event. Chunks can range from one byte to the whole JSON
document. Resulting DOM trees can be read, modified, and saved.

[011] - Tile Project 0.7.4
  by Greg Schenzel (http://freshmeat.net/users/inittab/)
  Sat, Jul 26th 2008 12:30

About: Tile is a program that can tile windows on the desktop, either
vertically or horizontally. It can avoid screen elements based on window
manager "profiles" and "avoid" data that are user-customizable. It has been
mostly tested under MWM, but it also works with some multi-desktop window
managers [_WIN_WORKSPACE] like FluxBox and Oroborus, given the "-m" option,
or GNOME/Net-WM style WMs, given the "-w" option.

Changes: If run as "iconify", tile will minimize all windows ("Show
Desktop" for MS users). Debian and NetBSD packaging fixes were made. Output
messages were streamlined.

[012] - transcode 1.0.6

  Sat, Jul 26th 2008 12:20

Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: Conversion
Multimedia :: Video :: Conversion

About: transcode is a text console video-stream processing tool. It
supports elementary video and audio frame transformations. Some example
modules are included to enable import of MPEG-1/2, Digital Video, and other
formats. It also includes export modules for writing to AVI files with
DivX, OpenDivX, XviD, Digital Video or other codecs. Direct DVD transcoding
is also supported. A set of tools is available to extract and decode the
sources into raw video/audio streams for import and to enable
post-processing of AVI files.

Changes: Some typos in the documentation of filter_modfps,
filter_yuy2toyv12, and the man page were fixed. The af6 module now compiles
with the latest avifile. NUV code was backported from HEAD and build
problems were fixed. Experimental support for x86_64 was added, though x86
is preferred. filter_pv is now only built if HAVE_LIBXV is set.
Compatibility with the header layout of recent versions of the ffmpeg
library was achieved. libpostproc support now requires a newer layout. LZO
version 2 is now used.

  Sat, Jul 26th 2008 00:55

System :: Systems Administration

About: Virtualmin is a Webmin module that simplifies the process of
setting up and managing virtual servers. It can create Apache virtual
hosts, BIND DNS domains, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, and set up
Sendmail or Postfix to accept email for a domain. It can also manage
mailboxes and mail aliases within a domain.

Changes: This version adds Webmail and admin DNS aliases to new domains, a
page for setting global variables for use in templates, support for editing
included domains in SPF records, Module Config options for a custom logo,
Dutch updates, and many other small features and bugfixes.

  by Fulvio Senore (http://freshmeat.net/users/fsenore/)
  Sat, Jul 26th 2008 12:30

System :: Archiving

About: VVV (Virtual Volumes View) is an application that catalogs the
content of removable volumes such as CD and DVD disks for off-line
searching. Folders and files can also be arranged in a single, virtual file
system. Each folder of this virtual file system can contain files from many
disks.

Changes: The program should now be able to correctly handle filenames
containing foreign characters. Support for localization was added. At the
moment only an Italian version is available: translators are welcome. The
ability to backup and restore a catalog was added along with the ability to
export data to a CSV file. The program's icons were changed to avoid
licensing problems with the Tango icons.

Software Development
Software Development :: Quality Assurance
System :: Benchmark

About: Zoom is a low-overhead graphical and command line profiler for
Linux. A Zoom profile is system-wide, precise down to the instruction
level, and captures backtraces. This lets you see exactly what was running,
where time was spent, and how that code was called. Drill down into
critical code to get detailed performance data. Zoom analyzes and annotates
your code with specific tuning advice for many compilers and processors.
Share what you find with colleagues or archive it for later review. Zoom
saves profiles as a single, self-contained session file that can be emailed
or attached to bug reports. It also supports remote network profiling and
scripting.
